The day we brought our two kittens home from the shelter they looked almost the same size (eight weeks old). Our male weighted in at 1.9 and his sister was 1.6. The shelter said they were from the same litter. Over the past few weeks the male has grown considerably bigger than his sister. See pic in signature it was taken today. They both are free fed dry food and get a spoonful of wet food in the evening. They both seem to eat the same amount and use the litter box, too. They are going on 10 weeks old and will be going to the vet for the next set of shots this week. I weighted them and they are both gaining weight. So I'm not concerned with their health.
My question is....
Do girls and boys differ in growing sizes and rates? All the male cats I have see always tend to be bigger than females. Does this start as kittens too? Is our female just going to be a smaller cat? Anyone have any experience with this?
Any imput will be appriecated! Thanks!
