I have really no idea where to put this, but this seemed the best place.

It's really nothing serious, but I'm really wondering about it. My cats are both red tabbies. Anyon is a mackerel tabby, Eleni is a marbled tabby.

They both have white whiskers.

But since a month or two ago, Eleni's new whiskers are black. First she had one, then two. Now she has about five, and a few short, new ones.  So I'm guessing she loses the old white ones and all the new ones are somehow black. Is there any particular reason for that? Anyon still has white whiskers only. Will they change too?

It's not like I care, I mean, she's beautiful with either color
, but I'm wondering why they would change.

Thanks for any answers. :)

How strange :lol3:

I had to go have a look at some of my cats whiskers to check this out :D
My cats are brown classic tabbies and blue classic tabbies - guess what some of mine have a mix of white and black whiskers. Some have all white and some have a mix.

Not sure why this is but it must be pretty normal :catguy:

I figured it was pretty weird because neither of them have any black in their coat.

My old cat
had black whispers, but she was a grey/black tabby, so I thought that was quite normal.

You are right. I just noticed that now she has fewer black whiskers! My male tabby gets no black whiskers though, his are all white, even the new ones!
