For heaven's sake, that's just so incredibly dumb for them to be like this. I feel badly for you to have to deal with that!
Self important fools like that are the types of people who give otherwise good organizations a bad name. I'd try to talk to a different person and see if it's just whoever you talked to or if that's the attitude there in general, if it's the latter then you probably aren't going to get much help and may want to keep looking. It's more of, they dont believe me she is a stray because it takes a person with some special certification to rehabilitate a stray and that I am just a pet owner who didnt have their animal fixed and now wanting them to do it under the pretense of it being a stray.
Is it a local affiliation of a bigger organisation or are they independent? If the first, maybe try talking to their main office? If you're emailing them, maybe phone conversation or even visiting them can convince them? It's totally irresponsible of them, the clock is ticking and by not reacting, they can make a situation worse They're supposed to help animals from overpopulation and it seems they're reluctant toThis is the first time I have had issue with them. I found out they do serve this area. They have fixed strays for me before but there was no denying they were strays because they were feral. I have heard other complaints similar to the response I got from them today from other people. So it may be the organization, or at least this one
