Sending poop vibes Charlies way.
Come on Charlie, you don't want your new Mommy and Daddy plus all of us to have to go on poop watch!

Oh goody it is working then, just keep it up, you are doing a great job, and whatever you do, DON'T let him see any of these posts until he comes to realize that he had a great idea when he says ya'll can keep Charlie.Originally Posted by jcribbs
XO my dear...... Of course he will think it's his idea!! I would not have it any other way. My husband has a soft touch. Probably down in his heart he already realizes we are keeping Charlie. He just hasn't vocalized it yet... He probably knew when he picked him up that first time on the side of the road.
This mornign when he got home and charlie was being so cute on his hind legs, I said "Honey, look, he's glad to see his daddy"... Juan reached around and loved on him and didn't say a word....
He knows.....
I think that is very possible, whenever Opie is going poo poo, he always looks around to see if we are watching him, I always look away so he is not embarressed.Originally Posted by jcribbs

As I sit here typing, charlie is sleeping by my feet. Hubby is asleep too.
It's possibly Charlie has poopied off to the side somewhere and I have just not seen him. I have went and looked and see no "extra strange poop". I wormed him yesterday...
He's eating..... so eventually he has to poop... It might be the change of diet. We feed the dogs "little bites pedigree" here. Even the big dogs eat it real dainty since they think they are little girls.. hehe
And keep sending those poop vibes.
Poor poor poor Charlie needs them real bad...
He doesn't appear to have a stomach ache so.......hopefully I just missed the move....He does not appear bloated.
Fixing to go to bed. Have to work the midnight shift tonight.... Hopefully the town will be hopping and the night will fly by....
I am still crating Charlie at night but during the day he is out here with us. The cats are getting more friendly toward him. But he is still a little scared of the big bad cats...
And LSULOVER, keep DesirÃ[emoji]169[/emoji]e on standby. You never know. But I will say today Juan has not mentioned a single time that poor poor poor Charlie has to find a good home. When Hubby got home this morning, Charlie was estastic to see him.. When Juan sat down, Charlie stood on his hind legs smiling.. Charlie can sit up like a dauchaund does.. He is very cute!!!
Will canned pumkin work??? I have canned pumpkin...
That is the way that Opie is, Opie is the dog that found our home 4 years ago, we think he had been abused and it took us a long time to get him to trust us, especially my husband, now they are the best of friends.Originally Posted by jcribbs

I'll say "tinkle poopie" and she runs to do her job. And then I clap... and say good girl..... She at that point, scratches the ground like she is a big dog instead of a 9 pounder..
Maybe Charlie is a dog that likes to do his job in private.....
Poor Juan is never gonna know what hit him here, everyone is working for Charlie, Juan doesn't have a chance.Originally Posted by KitEKats4Eva!
Well this is all getting very exciting!!!!
You know, I hope Juan never sees this thread!(well, at least not until you know for sure that Charlie is staying!).
I wouldn't go the poor poor poor angle anymore - he's not `poor' Charlie these days. BUT, I would definitely remind Juan when you can that `remember how he was just standing there in the middle of the road, waiting for his family to come back? Looking for them everywhere? Do we want to do that to him AGAIN? That might be enough to break his trust in people forever'. You know the drill - yada yada yada, that'll tug at his heartstrings for sure.
Charlie probably isn't sitting for Juan yet because dogs have photographic memories about things they learn, which is what helps them reinforce habits. YOU were the one who taught him to sit, therefore, for a while at least, he actually only remembers how to sit for you. When he gets more used to the command and understands it more, he'll sit for Juan, too.
I, too, am sending poop vibes - poop away, Charlie boy! I think the canned pumpkin will help and it's a good idea - plus it's a yummy treat, most doggies love vegetables so he'll be very pleased.
You are already having better luck with your cats than we have ever had with ours and the dogs, and they've all been together for nearly 18 months. We still have to separate them most times. The dogs just cannot work out that the cats don't want to `play' with them they way the dogs play with each other!
I also think that Juan is doing the `responsible husband' bit. He's probably dying for you to ask him if you can keep Charlie so he can give in to what he's been wanting to say all along and say yes. He's probably suffering from some pride - you know, he's said you have to find Charlie a home and now he can't back down. Perhaps you could try some feminine crying and a bit of `please please please we've already got so many one more won't hurt!' and give him the chance to be a benevolent husband and grant you your wish! I know that's what Max would be like (even if he didn't realise it himself!)
You could be right........ I will think about this..... He gives me anything I could possibly want. In fact, I have to be careful in voicing what I "might want" because next thing I know he has it for me. He enjoys bragging about this to his friends "His happy wife"..... and he's right on about that.I also think that Juan is doing the `responsible husband' bit.
