Dry Fur in Winter

My boy’s fur always gets a little itchy-twitchy in winter, and he doesn‘t like the static! Wondered if other experience this seasonal issue. Am experimenting with humidifiers and coconut pumpkin quail catfood…supposedly the coconut adds oils that soothes fur.

Coconut oil won’t do much for cat’s skin, sadly. It’s great for soothing the gums, but won’t do much for the skin, unless applied topically. Your best bet is fish oil and using some leave in conditioning spray (for cats) when you brush him.

Yes it can happen for sure! See.reasons as why we get dry skin in winter.

If you don't already, adding some extra water to his food can be helpful.

Fish oil like mentioned above is great too.

You could also give a bit of plain egg white if he likes.

Is there a brand of spray you recommend? You seem to know a lot about this. Would prefer a kind that doesn’t have too many ingredients.

Only one I’ve used that’s definitely available in the US is Groomer’s Goop 5 in 1 spray
