So, I took Teddy to the vet this morning... he'd gone 2 months without having a terrible flareup from his chronic URI, but last night he started having terrible sneezing fits coupled with bloody snot - so off he went to the vet.
He's had Clavamox and Zithromax, and today he was prescribed doxycycline. We're going to administer it as a liquid mixed with his food. If anyone has used doxycycline before, can you let me know if it:
a. helped your cat get over their URI?
b. gave your cat terrible diarrhea?
We think Teddy is going to have chronic problems, but the vet is hoping that this can help him out a bit more. The goal is for him to not go to the vet every 1-2 months for this.
