Okay, I'll ask her. In the meantime, try searching YouTube for "using a drop spindle" (and similar things). Trust me - you do not want to go shopping for a spinning wheel. It would be much more expensive, as well as less portable. A drop spindle is the way to go. And forget everything you learned from watching Disney's version of Sleeping Beauty. You can't prick your finger on a spindle.
