Danger Cat And Fire Escape?

Hi,
I was wondering do you see any danger to let my cat on the leash on the fire escape? We have this huge window that leads us to the fire escape where the stairs themselves are 2 meters away. We have a view on the park. My cat is used to the leash and to listen to my directions in the leash. Do you see any danger of lifting the screens and letting her sun bath while supervised and on the leash?

If the leash is strong enough that you can pull the cat up if s/he slips AND it wouldn't choke the cat in that situation. I don't see a problem with supervised trips to the escape.
