My 1 year old cat Smoothie was spayed last Tuesday. That means that today is day 9 of the healing process. Everything has looked good up until this morning. On the first stitch, there is a ball of crust and I can’t tell if there’s an opening underneath or not. Everything else looks fine, but I am slightly worried. She’s supposed to get them taken out tomorrow, and now I’m concerned. They haven’t been leaking, and the incision isn’t red. I’m just worried about this crust and if it’s open or not. I am not sure what I should do.

It should be healed by now, I think what you're seeing is the skin reacting to the irritation of the stitches. And that usually clears up very quickly after the stitches are removed. Of course ask the vet about it, but I don't think it's anything to worry about :).
