I know his eyes are gross, but he hates being touched there.

His eyes do look troubled, but he is a beautiful brown cat like my Gemini. They are so rare. Gemi and her brother Timo were found on a suburban sidewalk at an estimated age of two days old and bottle fed until they could eat on their own. I was lucky enough to be able to adopt them both, especially since I had been considering a Burmese. The foster mother and daughter team were sponsored by the local humane society and I was told they might see a brown cat no more than once every five years.

Echolane Echolane So glad you adopted Gemi and Timo and yes, brown cats are very rare. The Havana Brown is a truly brown "purebred" cat, but many mixed cats, especially black cats born to Siamese mothers, are rusty black and appear brown.
