Hi everyone,
English is not my native language, so I hope you'll all understand me.
My cat (female, 1,5 years old) is suffering from recurrent bladder stones (struvite) and cystitis.
She has been on a special diet food, Royal Canin High Dilution. She had antibiotics for the cystitis. A while later there were no bladder stones in her urine and she had no more cystitis.
Later I suspect struvite/ cystitis again and got her urine checked.
She has had several times struvite and cystitis. Then, the vet did a bladder puncture and a bladder ultrasound. Her bladder looked healthy. The puncture showed it was a bacterial infection. She needed special medication for the bacteria and after using this medication it was gone.
Later on I switched slowly to Trovet ASD since I heard good things about this diet (This diet occurs struvite instead of dissolving struvite Crystals)
It seemed to me that it is not healthy to keep a cat on RC dissolving diet for a long time, because it can also be damaging for the kidneys.
Her urine got checked last week, and she has back bladderstones (slightly) and very light cystitis. 10 days Onsior for now and she has to go back on the diet food Royal Canin, the vet assistent said.
Does anyone have experience with a cat who has these returning problems? I would prefer to give her this solving food for a short time, because I believe that this is not so good for her. I have experience with kidney failure in cats and I would therefore unburden the kidneys as much as possible. But of course, it is not my intention that she is getting back struvite over and over again.
Does anyone have tips for feeding, and any (homeopathic) medication in addition maybe?
