I got Midnight a new cat tree but so far no interest. I even got some catnip and sprayed some on it and even that didn't get her attention. I hope she starts to use it soon..
Thanks..I started to get some of the dried and thought I could get a better coverage with the spray..I'm glad to know Midnight is not the only cat who didn't respond to the spray! I'll make a run toOriginally Posted by GoldenKitty45
Try some dried catnip (the spray really doesn't work - I got some long time ago and the cats did nothing - they like the "real thing" better)..
The tree came with two toys but where they are located is high on the tree so I'll try the feather toy idea! It just occured to me that she likes the laser beam and I haven't done that on the tree yet.Originally Posted by GoldenKitty45
Also try tying a toy with string to the tree so it swings freely. Or use a feather toy for playing and intice the cat to "catch' the toy on a shelf, etc.
Interesting...well I noticed today she was using one of the scratching posts and she found a spot underneath the little hammock..Originally Posted by Misty8723
Maybe your cat is just not interested in climbing on the tree.
I got one for my two cats, Swanie jumped on it right away, but Cindy has never been on it. She does use it for a scratching post, though. Swanie's not on it much anymore either.
Midnight is the laid back personality. I have started to put her food on the base...so she associates it with good things and also it keeps Tal from getting into her food dish!Originally Posted by clpeters23
I think it depends on the personality of the cat. In my house the really curious cat will be all over anything new in the house. The laid back, "I don't care about anything" will take his sweet time, barely acknowledging something new.
Don't give up...sometimes things have to sit out for a while to become "popular"Originally Posted by Mygirlmidnight

cool...I think it just takes awhile for her to warm up to things!Originally Posted by whiskerynature
