My Shiloh is a splooter. It looks hilarious -- she does a big stretch, then lowers her front end to the ground. I still haven't been able to get a video of it, but I have pictures!

How cute! Charlie doesn't sploot, he either curls up or does the kitty loaf position.

I tend to associate this position in animals with knee tiredness or achiness. My cat has done this when her knees (prone to luxating patellas, now having been fixed by surgeries) have been overused in playtime or they feel a bit sore. I've seen a lot of small dogs with shorter legs do this position as well.

Lola Splooting it's just the cutest thing ever. This is my first cat that has ever done this. I had to look it up to see what it was called.

Well, I'm glad I looked at this thread and found out what a sploot was. When I first read the title I thought a sploot sounded like something unpleasant you would find in the litterbox!

I thought the same thing! I wondered if it was wise to open on the train...

Luckily Sploots are adorable! I've never had a cat that did it though

I had just finished installing the hardwood floor (pre-finished) and he must have thought it felt SO nice on his belly. LOL
