My little precious 10 month old kittie died yesterday. My girlfriend and I still have no explanation as to why. It all started when he got neutered/rabies vaccine. After words he was very sluggish. Obviously we thought “the surgery.” After about 72 hours after nothing changed very sluggish and also very slow decline in his eating habits and slowly stopped drinking as much water as usual. So at day 5 it was like a total nightmare. I came home from work and instead of being greeted at the door he layer in his bed facing away from me forehead first on the couch. Hardly moved at all and completely stopped drinking and eating with puking up yellow bile. We immediately took to the vet. The vet gave an appetite stimulate and anti-nausea medication. Didn’t work. Next day back at the vet. They ran an X-ray and administered fluids. Nothing showed up on X-ray so vet thought it could be a hairball since hair is to thin to show up on one. They gave the first dosage and left us the remainder. The vet was so reassuring that this was the issue and it made practical sense. When carrying our kitten in the carrying case outside he actually looked a tiny bit better. He was responsive and his eyes had “color”. We got back home and my girlfriend watched over kittie. This was the first time we had hope since the initial turmoil. I went back to work. I get a call 3 hours later. Our little kittie passed. So incredibly sad . We can’t make it out... what the hell was it? We suspect neglect at the neutering facility. We blame ourselves for not following our gut, but we had the recommendation from the local humane society so we went for it. The person there met us outside(covid times...) and it seemed like we were a burden and she was not friendly or showed any compassion for animals. Nothing overall blatant sign but still shady.... please I need some closure... any ideas on the cause of death or ideas on what the hell happened. Please .
