Why does my cat Ben like to go to the back of the house and cry? He gets plenty of love, has full food, water, and clean litter box. He still does it.

When he does I go pick him up and bring him to my lap and he quits.

I have no idea what's up with him.

Re-reading your OP, as he goes to the back of the house to cry, he also knows that you will come & find him & then cuddle him. You could try ignoring his cries, but I suspect you won't.

I have a cat who goes and sits on the kitchen table every evening and cries. I finally figured out that he wants attention. Sometimes I try to re-direct him to a new activity, but often he'll go back to the kitchen and start over.

I think willowy is whispering to him :chessirecat:.......

Ok, jokes aside, yes, like what was mentioned by the others, he's just seeking attention. My boy does that too. He knows we are in the living room, he'll run to the bedroom and meow for attention and in we go to rescue

I have an unneutered male who does the same. He's the newest addition to my breeding program so I'm hoping it means he's getting mature. His 1 yr bday is today.
