Is my cat baby a calico or a tortoiseshell cat? I thought she was a calico, but her previous vet told me she is a tortoiseshell which I found very odd since she's an experienced vet. She also said she doesn't see many cats like mine. I'm finally asking my question now, but isn't my cat baby a calico in coloring? Her underside is all white and the orange and black areas are more distinctive instead of blended.
I found this description: "The two terms (calico and tortoiseshell) refer to coat colors. Calicos have a three-color combination‚white, black, and red-orange. Tortoiseshells lack the white and are often mottled."
If you have any ideas what breed my cat might be, please let me know.
Also, I'm so glad I got my calico cat baby with her attitude. Perfect cat for me for now. ^_^
