My son and his wife were coming for dinner one year in the early summer, and I wanted to make a nice cantaloupe and cherry salad with lime drizzled over. The cherries had just come in and they were like $8.99 per pound, but I didn't think I would need that many for the salad, so I bagged some up. I don't remember what the cherries ended up costing, but the checker was shocked, and commented that those were expensive cherries!
