Blindness after spaying my cat

Hello,my cat 9 months old got spayed 3 days back and from yesterday i noticed that she went into blindness please help me with this I can't even sleep by seeing her condition.is this a temporary blindness or permanent blindness

Yeah but they said they doesn't come up with this condition till now and they gave vitamin A medicines

Do they think there's a chance this is temporary? Have they checked her bloodpressure? Could she have had a stroke or something?

Hi and welcome to TCS, despite what brought you here. Given it is likely the anesthesia might be the culprit, I'd ask your vet to consult with a specialty group that has an internal med specialist as well as a neurologist on board. They very well have seen other cases and can offer possible treatments/testing that could help. If nothing else, they may be able to tell you the odds of your cat's eyesight returning.

Just to add, no matter what happens blindness in cats is nothing like blindness humans. Especially if they’re an indoor cat they can and will adjust since they rely much more heavily on their other senses. I really hope that can ease your mind at least a little, your cat can have a happy healthy life even if this turns out to be permanent. Still, so sorry you and your kitty are going through this and I hope you can figure things out soon
