I went to Target to get some stuff yesterday and the whole store was christmas already. I did get some peppermint marshmallow and peppermint pretzels at Sprouts the other day only because I love both and they are only out this time of year. But I wont open either for a few weeks (uhhh maybe days).I think the day after halloween is the new "black friday", lol. There were candy canes at the checkout line at the grocery store yesterday. The sick thing is that almost grabbed a couple of them out of sheer habit and I don't even have anyone to give them to .
You could probably make it much cheaper. My Willow loves sparkle balls, you pay a dollar a piece at Petco. But you can buy a huge bag full at Hobby Lobby for just a couple dollars.I have credit card debt, so I'm mostly going to pass this year. Laurel got a "puppy's first Christmas" stocking from Petco with some sort of a treat in it last year, so I'll probably get Willow something similar or else make her one.
It seems too early to look into volunteering at a soup kitchen or children's hospital.
You can add catnip to the stuffing tooAll my friends and siblings are older like I am and we all have way too much stuff. So family is just a card. I have 2 friends I exchange small gifts with - Under $10. I usually make something.
The cats may get new toys, but I will probably make them. If you are crafty you can take scraps of cloth (or buy a remnant or small garment at a thrift store). Cut into a square, sew or glue 3 sides, stuff (buy a pillow from a thrift store for $2 or $3 and wash the stuffing). Then sew or glue the top.
I also buy ping pong balls from the $ store - 6 or 8 for $1.
Back to the original post - I refuse to get sucked into the whole Black Friday thing. If there is something I need/want and it is a good deal I might buy it, but mostly I just ignore all the hype.
The holidays can be depressing - my brother said he doesn't like all the commercials because the people all have a much better life than him.
I did that last year. They never pulled my order then cancelled it when they ran out.The cool thing about Petsmart is that you can order it online and pick it up whenever you want . I got over 50 buckets of Tidy Cats last year and still have some left, so this year I won't be quite so crazy, lol. Maybe 20.
That happens a lot. I pay attention to black friday just for really good deals but I tend to price check a few places and usually find the same or better price somewhere else before or after black Friday. I did buy a TV for black friday one year and 28 days later it was cheaper (luckily since I bought it online I was able to get a price adjustment and was refunded the difference by the online support.)They make it look like things are on sale still; but not really.
Jerks. Mine went great. I ordered some online, then went after work on Friday and bought some separate from the order, after verifying that the order was pulled and didn't have to be picked up that day. Then I went back and picked up the order on Saturday. They had plenty of litter. The Banfield at that location closed a few years ago so they had the whole vet clinic section filled with litter buckets, lol.I did that last year. They never pulled my order then cancelled it when they ran out.
I still have bedding and hay leftover from last year for my rabbit but I will buy more if the have the same sales.I don't bother with Black Friday sales except for necessary pet stuff. This year I know I'll get Carefresh bedding for the mouse. It's usually BOGO for the 60 L bag at most chain pet stores. Memo to me: bring the folding shopping cart so I can get the bulky bags home by bus. I can stock up on some canned food, too.
