With my work schedule being so crazy, I don't have much time to post on here like I used to but I've still been lurking pretty regularly, lol.
Yesterday, while I was at Job #3, I got a text from two of my coworkers at Job #1. Our boss/manager had been let go. It is a huge shock to all of us, she was the glue that held us together and we weren't expecting it at all. Head office had been breathing down her neck to make some changes that just weren't possible at store level and I guess they had finally had enough.
I had been working some crazy hours there just for her. I am one of the few people at our store that can do what I do and definitely the fastest person in doing them. I talked to my dad last night and we discussed how I should move forward. I really haven't been happy there for the last 5 (out of 7) years. I would work late on Friday nights and go in really early on Saturday mornings - legally, it wasn't allowed but since I agreed to it, it was fine. Doing that was really starting to take a toll on me, both emotionally and physically, in the last year especially. I'm constantly tired, can't remember the last time that I've gone a few weeks without a cold and I could never go out with my friends. If I did want a Friday, Saturday, or the weekend off, it was a battle to get it. It also meant that I couldn't really focus on Job #2, which I absolutely love. Today I went online to our work site and changed my availability. I will only be working there 3 days a week and will have Saturday off to focus on Job #2 (which, as a bonus, pays almost $4/hr more and I make my own schedule).
In addition to everything else that's going on, I start school on Friday for Veterinary Office Management. I still don't know if my request for OSAP was accepted or not, but my dad has covered it for me for this semester and I'll pay him back myself over time if I don't get it.
If anyone can spare some vibes that I will have enough hours to make enough money to pay for everything until things get sorted out every where I'd really appreciate it. We don't know what's going to happen with Job #1 and as much as I'd love to just quit, I can't afford to do that right now. As it stands now, I've freed up 8 hours for someone that needs them more than I do.
