Ooh, that's a tough one. Is there any way you could rearrange the specialist ultrasound for a couple of weeks time, then you could continue with your trial and still have it as back-up?

It's very good news that you might have finally gotten to the bottom of things, so to speak. I don't know anything about fish and peeing, I suppose I should look into it...

Good idea about rescheduling. I think I'll do that and tell them what I've found out.

Ma.cro that is amazing that a change in food did that.
I cannot tell you what to do but I have had ultrasounds done on my cat and it is very expensive. I know. I think with the way things are improving you may wanna skip that, particularly since the vet doesn't think you will find anything. Is your regular vet doing the procedure or a specialist?

I know, right?? It's so weird. I've dealt with a food allergy before, with my oldest (Venus). Except she had GI issues and horrible diarrhea that took an entire month to clear up even after eliminating all foods with chicken and switching to an LID diet. But she was also sick for 2 months trying to figure that out that allergy after ruling out bacterial infection and parasites, so maybe that's why it took so long.

The specialist was going to do the ultrasound. I didn't get a chance to go even tell the secretary of my food trial, as I couldn't get ahold of them all day and they called me back at the last minute before closing. I just rescheduled for 2 weeks ahead and I'll see how Thalia is doing then if I even need to keep the appt.

I also forgot to add that her "fat" belly was all bloat. As soon as I took the fish away, her belly isn't round and hard feeling like it was.
