Our kitty was having problems this am with staggering and falling, so he went in for tests. Tests came out clean, thank goodness, and the vet is stumped as to a cause for his morning behavior. She gave him a shot of Metacam (anti-inflammatory) to see if that helps, in case he's developing arthritis. She said they've had a lot of luck with the drug and wanted to try it on him. I just did a little research on the drug and found it can cause renal failure and sometimes death in cats. The studies I found didn't sound as positive as my vet did and now I'm worried.
Does anyone have any other information on medicine? I pick him up this evening and am going to take print-outs of the information I found.
Thanks in advance for any advice/help.
Kris
