daisies -- but they spread like wildfire over a couple years time. black eyed susans make a nice contrast. petunias are good if you don't mid dead-heading them. hostas are great for lots of green, but don't bloom all summer. i also like varieties of lillies-- the perenialls tend to be pretty hardy.
Zinnias and Marigolds, tall, short, or medium, are so easy, and the tall ones are good for cutting. I like the Cactus flowered ones. You could let Morning Glory (Heavenly Blue is nice.) climb your lamp post, trellis, or wrought iron posts.
Whoops, too slow again. No chapstick, but I wear lipstick, and that keeps my lips from getting chapped.
Is there any sign of Spring flowers coming up in your yard?
Flowers in the yard? Nope - Pearl would eat them. My bougainvilla is in front but its looking kind of sickly. My organ pipe cactus has lots of new fruit on it, though.
Yup, I have won lots of awards for my shooting, but my two proudest accomplishments are being the first woman Master class shooter (94% of shots in the 10 and X ring) in Colorado, and earning the Distinguished Rifleman Badge. The Distinguished program was started in the 1870s and you earn points in certain (high pressure!) rifle matches. Since 1870, I was the 41st woman to ever go Distinguished, and around 850th of the TOTAL men and women who had earned it.
