We've been feeding both our cats (PJ, 11-12ish years old; Teddy, 8.5 years old) IVD Duck and Pea for over a year now because Teddy had some incredible bowel/digestion problems. We had been told it was IBS/IBD, but it might not be the case - we just had him try Royal Canin Oral Sensitive 30(since he has lousy teeth) and he's been good for 3 days - whereas with any other food besides IVD, he's gotten sick! We're also thinking that since IVD is also made by Royal Canin, maybe others in the brand will be good for Teddy too.
If the RC continues to work out well, we want to keep using it. PJ loves it too - but the package says "from 1-10 years". Is it appropriate for PJ? Should I mix it with one of the senior formulas (i.e. 27)? I'm not sure I like the idea of using 27 because it has softer kibble - with the 30, both cats are really forced to chew and that's great for them since they eat kind of fast.
So would PJ be fine on a food for cats age 1-10? She acts and seems like she's 3...
.. and could Teddy stay on it after he's 10?
Thanks!
