When should I stop the pedialyte? Can I overdose her with electrolytes? I think she is still a little dehydrated. It's hard to do the tent test with her because I can't see.. she's fluffy. Her pee is not so dark either now.
Okay so she weighed in at 177 yesterday, but it was surprising since she didn't hit 176. She gains weight very very slowly. Anyways the next time I weighed her she was at 175 grams so I think it was the scale. Anyways she has been stuck at 174/175 grams for a long time. Is there anything I can do?
I'm feeding her right now and she has a lot of energy. She was awake and waiting for me to take her out. Now she's walking around and climbing all over me. She doesn't really want to eat but she wants to explore lol
They tried to tell me that at my rescue, and I had been fighting diarrhea for a month. Listen to Sarthur2, she's correct.
This is how much owners of shelters know (not all, but some). When I mentioned the dehydration after their spay, she told me "they weren't dehydrated, they were just thirsty".
Really?....didn't know there was a difference.
I know. I am going to listen to her. She's helped me with almost every litter I've had. They were speaking through personal experience. They are really good at caring for newborns as that's what their rescue focuses on. My foster coordinator didn't really believe me so I went to them for help.
I know you said don't sorry unless it gets out of the 170s but she's now at 173. I will keep making sure she gets the right amount of food. Tommorow is her last day on panacur. Do you think she will start gaining after that?
The only time she was starting to gain was when I was feeding her hourly. But she's just not hungry. I was forcing it. I feed her every two now, but she probably could go every three but she never takes more than like 5 mls down so she would get less food.
I mean she is going poop a lot. So maybe it was the worms. I know for sure she's going better than she was because she lost over 20 grams in two days last time.
