About 3 weeks ago I noticed that my 2 year old cat was throwing up a few times a day, but because she's a "puker" I didn't think a lot of it.
I kept an eye on it though and eventually took her in when stopped eating as much.
Vet checked her out, same weight, did X-ray, etc
Gave me some different food and gave her a shot of nausea
Also gave her some special canned food that she was supposed to eat for a week.
This cat is fairly tall and weighs 9lbs, and used to eat A LOT. Any time I'd fill the bowl up, she'd RUN in and even when I was pouring the food in she'd have her head in the bowl.
She wanted nothing to do with the dry food, and ate the canned food for 3 days. I thought that maybe she discovered the canned food tasted better, but after 3 days she wouldn't eat the canned, or really the dry food.
By not eating, I mean I'll catch her in there nibbling a bit 2-3 times a day. But like I said, before she would sit there an eat for minutes 10-15 times a day and all it'd take to get her up was hearing the container open.
Now, she doesn't care.
So back to the Vet...
They knock her out, put a scope in her stomach, do blood work, do some kind of test where they inject her with a dye, etc.
Vet sees nothing wrong, suggests a new food.
She kinda eats new food for a day or 2, but again, now she's like "Meh"
Goes into the food room, walks up to bowl, looks at it, and leaves or just sit there.
She's lethargic, sleeps more, etc because I assume lack of food/lack of energy.
Called vet today, and she's like "We've ran every test that would correspond with this behavior", and isn't really sure.
Obviously she's eating and drinking enough to stay alive, but I'm very concerned. It'd be like if a human who ate 3 meals a day and 100 ounces of liquid cut back to 500 calories and a few glasses of water.
Is it just behavioral now? I thought maybe she wasn't eating because she was throwing up more and was avoiding food because she didn't wanna throw up...
I've tried 3 foods, one canned, and she just kinda looks at it like "Pass"
