some times a cat who has starved has to really eat everything possible for a limited time then she/ he normalizes eating. One of our starvelings was hungry all the time until we moved. Everyone else hid for the first breakfast - she ate all seven breakfasts. They continued to hide for dinner - she ate all seven. They hid for the next breakfast - she ate six and fell asleep by the seventh. After that the mad need to eat everything was gone.

Each cat got 1/4 of a six ounce can of Friskies per meal.

This may not have been the right way to do it, but we didn't force her nor prevent the others from eating. they didn't even come in the room and she was the most junior of the group. But it seemed to be what she needed to become food secure, so I'm glad we let it happen.
