Fleas are Gone, But Cat Not Completely Normal

My kitten Peaches is now a full grown cat. She recently moved with us to Florida. Formerly, an 100% indoor cat, she now has a wonderful screened catio so that she can enjoy Florida life to the fullest. Well, the inevitable happened before we knew it! She brought fleas into the house and they...

Cat Not Eating Or Using Litter Box

My spouse and I had a very short talk, his idea to keep it short. He says that in the future we will only visit their house. If our friends ask to visit us, he says he will tell them that we prefer to visit them at their house. He will not agree to handle this issue properly. Peaches is sipping...

Cat Not Eating Or Using Litter Box

Jen, silkenpaw and neely, Thank you for the reinforcement. You think just as I do. But I cannot make my husband believe that I am being reasonable and our guests are not. The dog is shut up in the bedroom with the guests and they are leaving tomorrow. I have taken water and dry food to her...

Cat Not Eating Or Using Litter Box

We have house guests that brought their dog with them. The dog hates all cats. My husband says that we have to welcome our guests regardless of how the dog reacts to our cat, Peaches aged 11 months. Peaches has not eaten or used the litter box for 48 hours, except for 2 meat stick treats...

    Drinking Fountain Recommendations

My concern with an exposed submersible pump is having my cat seeing the water come up from the pump and taking the pump to be a play toy. Having a covered pump makes me more secure in not having the pump removed by kitty to play with. Kitties just love following anything that has movement.

    Drinking Fountain Recommendations

The Pioneer Pet stainless steel BigMax fountain is the preferred fountain at our house. We originally purchased a plastic bubble up fountain. It was hard to keep clean and our pet had to stand to drink. We replaced it with the Pioneer Pet BigMax. The pet can either sit or stand to drink...

Comment by 'angelsmom1988' in article 'Community Guidelines & Practices - Frequently Asked Questions'

I would like to know how to add a new Cat Page. I added one several years ago, and cannot find where to add a new one. Thanks so much for any help.

    what's your favorite cat litter?

I am pleased to say that Angel and I are both still happy with the A&H Super Scoop.  By the way, she was diagnosed with Hyperthyroid two and a half months ago.  She is now on Methimazole twice daily.  Although her litter habits improved considerably with treatment, she was still using urine to...

    what's your favorite cat litter?

I tried to find one of the Dr Elsey's litter's in our area, but without success.  I bought another of the suggested litters, the Arm & Hammer Super Scoop Unscented and have used this for two days. I am seeing a huge difference.  I have a few grains of litter just outside of the box and that is...

    what's your favorite cat litter?

You are so right about the mystery. Tomorrow I am going to a pet store that has Dr. Elsey's Precious Cat Ultra and I have already found the rebate form. If that brand doesn't work for us, I will next try Arm & Hammer Super Scoop Unscented. Thank you so much.

    what's your favorite cat litter?

Yes, I wish Angel would just tell me what litter comfort she wants the most. I have ruled out the scent, by putting out two boxes. Old location - new litter, new location old litter. She let me know that would use the new litter, if she felt like going down the stairs, but refused the old...

    what's your favorite cat litter?

Orange&White: I cannot be sure of every place on her body that it is sticking, as she is a long hair. I know that litter is sticking to her paws and rear, so I take her to for a "manicure" and sani-shave every couple of months. Her last appointment was yesterday. I see a less drop off today...

    what's your favorite cat litter?

Thank you very much to everyone for the suggestions. I will definitely consider the Primo Trapper Mat. I have a Dirt Devil Extreme Power hand-held vac that I use for quick litter clean-ups around the mat. The issue is that the Fresh Step litter is sticking to Angel's fur. The litter drops on...

    what's your favorite cat litter?

Free sounds great, as finicky as cats are. And the manufacturer appears to be confident with their product. Thanks for the recommendation.

    what's your favorite cat litter?

Yes, I tried a taller litter box, but she refused to use it all. I think it is arthritis, which is why I had to move the box from the lower level. Angel must have had issues with going down stairs, and started going on rugs and floors until I moved her box to the laundry room on the main...

    what's your favorite cat litter?

Thank you Bobbie Sue. I like Fresh Step for all the same reasons. It is just that this litter tracks every where. I have hard wood floors and I don't want scratches from walking on the ton of litter that goes everywhere, floors, furniture and rugs.

    what's your favorite cat litter?

My favorite cat litter is Fine Feline from Aldi. It is low dust, low track and hard clumping at a very reasonable price. However, my cat recently formed an aversion this litter either: 1) my cat's sense of smell changed and this litter has a light scent or 2) she relates this litter to her...

Hyperthyroid Cat and her Litter Box Behavior

We returned to the vet today. I will have the results of the hyperthyroidism retest tomorrow.  The major issue was that she did not want to take pills.  I crushed her pills in food twice a day and she appears not to mind.  I asked the vet if she doesn't eat all of the food on the bowl, is she...
