Don't feel bad for spending the money, I've spent about a thousand making him healthy, and just found out he needs a tooth removed (about 5-700$). Maybe we are crazy, but maybe we just treat them how we would like to be treated.

Just a warning that isolating can make this worse. I know you play with him a lot, but try to keep a very steady routine and INTENSE play schedule. Also, strategizing play/feed times can be a lifesaver. Maybe he's just exploring the world and since your the only living, he's harassing you :(
