His wounds are still bleeding (not soaking through like it was at first), but the swelling has gone down tremendously and he can now put some weight on his foot. We can also see the punctures more clearly and they do appear clean, so it's safe to say he is getting better.
Thank you everyone for all your wonderful advice. Right now MIL has been keeping his sores clean and wrapped in gauze. He is also not allowed to go outside (not even to sunbath on the front doorstep). Hopefully we can find some place that will help us.
As for my hand they explained that I had...
We're living with the MIL. And yes the whole family is in a financial bind. My SO was looking up some things trying to find a low cost vet, but he didn't say if he found anything. It was all for spay/neuter anyway.
My MIL's cat came home with a terrible limp a few days ago. His front leg/foot was very swollen and he wouldn't allow anyone to touch it, but from what I could see it did not appear that there was any visible external injuries. So I've been watching him like a hawk.
Just yesterday it started...
He's back!! Showed up on our back porch at 6 in the morning half starved and cold. Luckily the baby woke me up or else he would have been out there meowing for hours!
I was a little angry at him at the time, especially since he walked around the house meowing for about 30 minutes after eating...
Thanks for the advice.
This isn't his first time out of the house here ad the last time he went missing like this was just before the move (he showed up the day we moved).
He's also one of those cats who are EXTREMELY picky when it comes to his food. He won't eat it just anywhere (even when...
Our cat, Bobby got out the other day and I haven't seen him since.
Usually when he gets out he's back inside after an hour or so. It's not the case this time.
He a large Grey (or Blue depending on the person I think) adult cat. Tailless; possible Manx (he did bunny-hop as a kitten and has the...
Got a cat who loves to jump and climb all over people which has become a problem for me since I brought my son home from the hospital Sunday.
I've been breastfeeding on the living room couch since it's the most comfortable for me, but whenever it comes to the night feedings or other times where...
I've also been having a flea problem and know that they don't always stick to the ankles of humans.
I remember a couple times my daughter had approached me, scratching her head, and to my horror finding her poor little scalp literally infested.
My boyfriend is getting ready to bomb the place...
After her dog was put down my boyfriend's mother wound up with a MASSIVE flea infestation. Sadly my daughter came home one day after visiting literally covered in them and now we have them!
She sprayed, I think dusted, and bombed her trailer about two-three times before she finally got rid of...
I forgot about the micro-chipping!
I'll have to mention it later tonight. I think the collar being too small was a form of neglect (or stupidity). If he had been outside long enough to grow too big for his flea collar, which also seemed quite old, he wouldn't have looked so clean and well fed.
My boyfriend's mom decided to keep him.
We did ask around and no one had claimed him. He seems to have grown attached to me though and I don't even live with her!
Also many of the cats belong to people in the park (a good majority of them look to be well fed and taken care of). They're just...
