Do you do anything special to celebrate your cats' birthdays?
I usually get them a helium balloon that says "Happy Birthday" on it. They sometimes like to play with the string.
If you had relatively unlimited resources, e.g., a billion dollars, how many cats would you have?
Would you buy a huge property and populate it with thousands of cats? Millions? What would be your limit?
Both my cats have always loved to sleep on my bed, whether I'm using it or not.
I always figured that was because it was comfortable to them. But it recently occurred to me that maybe they're copying me. Is that possible?
It's interesting that when Slasher and Ripper are chasing a toy, when one of them catches it, the other never tries to take it away. He'll wait until the first kitty lets it go before trying to pounce on it.
It that a sort of code among cats?
I experimentally gave Slasher and Ripper raw food for the first time last night, a chicken wing.
Ripper growled at his food, before and during eating it. It was a little scary, but someone told me that's a cat's way of saying "This is mine!".
It turned out to be rather messy. They dragged...
I have a styptic pencil I use once in a while for shaving cuts. It's the kind you can buy at drugstores.
Would it also be safe to use on a cat's nail if I accidentally cut into the quick while trimming, or do cats require a special kind of styptic pencil/powder?
I'm interested in clicker training my two five-month old neutered male kittens, Slasher and Ripper. I've read a lot of the information at http://clickertraining.com/.
I assume I would need to separate them for lessons, at least initially. If I'm doing something with one of them, petting...
On September 5, (five-month-old) Slasher and Ripper started wearing their new collars. They're breakaway collars I ordered from http://softfleecepetproducts.com/.
I saw they were scratching at the collars, but I figured that would stop when they got used to them.
A week later, on September 13...
The stroller arrived by UPS Wednesday, and this morning I took Slasher and Ripper out in it for the first time.
I had assembled it Wednesday, and left it out for them to play with.
I went out while it was still dark, so no one saw me. The few cars that passed by probably thought it was a baby...
I recently got collars for Slasher and Ripper. They're fleece, ordered from http://softfleecepetproducts.com/.
I assume that I should remove the collar when applying a flea medication such as Frontline Plus?
Should the collar be kept off overnight while the medication dries and spreads?
I prepare the kitties' food in the kitchen, then carry the dish to the spare bathroom where I keep their food, water and litter boxes.
They always get in front of me and slow down or stop so I have to be very careful not to step on them.
Why do they do that?
Hello
I adopted two male kittens from an abandoned litter two months ago.
They're about eight weeks old in this picture. Slasher is the domestic short hair on the left, Ripper is the domestic medium hair on the right.
