I have some bad news.
Though Yuna was doing better last night, or so I thought, I woke up to find her resting her head to the water bowl today. Which is something she's never done before.
And though she shows some interest in eating she doesn't actually go ahead with it, last time she ate was...
Thanks for the replies.
I have t admit that I find the info in Tanya's site quite overwhelming and I'm still shifting through it, it was a great comfort to me though because when I saw the bloodwork I thought of the worse.
They think the infection was a result of her chronic CRF they didn't...
Recently my 14 year old Yuna, had a crash to what appears to be Chronic Renal disease.
Her Kidneys were infected (according to the vet), and she had 90.00 mg/dL BUN, 11.30 mg/dL PHOS but fortunately only 2.10 mg/dL CRE which is supposed to be right at the edge of acceptable, though a bunch of...
I just tried to open his mouth with my hand just like in the video above, just a lil bit, since I was just doing it to see how much he'll let me, and the moment I touched his gums he started pulling back and then using his paws to remove my hand.
He didn't scratch me since I was gentle and...
Personally, I only advocate for vaccinating kittens as soon as possible (which is about three weeks of age). Especially to avoid the dread that is panleukopenia, which can decimate an entire litter in a matter of hours.
Unless your adult cat is living alone (as in without other cats or animals)...
I appreciate all the information.
I have now ordered both a plastic pill popper and 100 size 5 empty gelatin capsules.
For the life of me, I could not find any locally, for the capsules is hardly surprising, I can’t even find isopropyl alcohol in local pharmacies, but I expected a vet or a...
Thanks for all the input.
Yeah I don't think the pill pockets will work any better than the handmade ball of Gourmet I usually use to administer medicine to them. I never even knew these things existed (regardless of brand) until I started researching when this situation happened, since I never...
In the last few months, my two 14 year olds (same litter siblings) displayed similar symptoms of diarrhea and loss of weight (with the occasional vomiting). To cut a longer story somewhat short, I took them to the vet, and he gave me metronidazole to give them.
I usually use Gourmet Gold for...
That’s actually a good idea, I don’t know how I didn’t think of making a litter box like that myself!
Though the extra large litter box I’m talking about is pretty tall, Margaret in specific really likes to go crazy with the digging, the others not so much, she still makes me sweep around the...
Is one of those extra large ones, and there's four cats plus Margaret so a total of five!
But yes you're right, I'm going to be bringing a sixth one over soon and I've been looking for another extra large one but can't find one locally, only normal sized ones, so I'll be looking for one online...
I have an update.
It looks like she stopped peeing blood and she's not blocked up, vet still not sure if its UTI or sand or whatever, just gave me antibiotics and told me to watch out if she pees blood again.
I hope this is just a case of UTI with just a particularly bad case of bleeding, and...
I have four other cats using the same litter box, if I put anything in it, they'll shred it to bits if they go in before she does.
I thought she was going to pee again since she got near the litter box, she didn't, she made her rounds then jumped on top of me and wanted me to pet her.
She got...
Is not thick, is watery like normal pee but full red. Though I think the second time there was a thicker part in the middle, it was pooling so I'm not sure.
She got up again and she is drinking water, I'll try to take a closer look if she pees again.
I'll check the article, the amount doesn't seem to be more than what her pee would be normally, is just that is all bloody, not just spots or anything like that.
No stress that I can think of, no new cats or change in environment recently. She was playing with a toy only a few days ago.
I've...
The vet barely did anything, besides examine her physically, give her her shots and tell me to bring her back tomorrow morning.
Veterinary care for cats locally is pretty bad, cats are very replaceable and disposable here, at least to most of the locals, usually when I take a cat to them they...
Today, my Cat Margaret age 9, looked a like she lacked energy, so I wanted to make sure she was OK so I gave her a treat. She ate it fine, but right after that she went to the litter box and pretty much peed all blood.
I freaked out and took her to the vet straight away, vet gave her a couple...
1. Spaying and Neutering really, really bothers me (I'm a man).
But… The positives far outweigh the negatives, I view it as a necessary evil.
Having an unneutered male cat, pissing all over your house, getting agitated to the point of attacking you (depending on the cat) scratching the...
I have an update.
Her results came back and it looks like her kidneys are not the problem, vet told me they’re not perfect, but she’s not in immediate danger for a kidney failure. Which was a great relief for me.
He kept her there under IV for about 4 hours because she was dehydrated she even...
I took her to the vet and he said he could do a blood test just for kidney related stuff which was within my budget (will get the result back tomorrow). Not sure what that means exactly, but is a lot cheaper than a full blood test that costs about 85 Euros down here.
He gave her an IV with an...
Hi, my 14 year old cat Yuna got inexplicably sick overnight.
When I woke up she didn’t come up to me with my other cats as she usually does, she was sitting in a cardboard box I have for them to scratch their claws on, and didn’t come out until I moved it around.
Then she went to the water...
