    Cat terrorizing household

I'm at a loss with this one and I've had cats my whole life. 5 year old female spayed exotic shorthair (not the norm behavior for this laid back breed!) - we've had her since kittenhood and, to be blunt she's always been annoying. I don't think she was socialized well. Healthy girl per recent...

Looking for a litter that won't leave sticky clumps behind in the Litter Robot

Thanks so much for responding!! I don't think the "no name" litter is here (still researching though) but I've seen World's Best so that's good! If that doesn't work I might try the baking soda route. Love the LR but I wish I knew how everyone else was combating this issue!

Looking for a litter that won't leave sticky clumps behind in the Litter Robot

Hi guys! I've been dealing with an issue where huge litter clumps stick to the inside top of the LR globe. Like clumps are getting stuck on the inner part above the cat's back. I've tried setting the timer to a 15 min cycle to give clumps a longer chance to harden but it still eventually...

    Litter Robot Litter Issue!

Thank you so much for the recommendation, it has been the litter of my dreams lol. No joke though, it's incredible, doesn't stick to anything, doesn't track, and there is 0 smell, even directly after they go to the bathroom. It's leagues ahead of what I've used in the past, I'm genuinely thrilled.

    Litter Robot Litter Issue!

I'm having litter robot litter issues too! Clump and Seal doesn't track at all (seriously it's amazing) but it leaves behind wet clay-like urine clumps all along the bottom of and sides of the LR. Tidy Cats does the same thing. I'm not sure what to try next, I guess Precious Cat?

    Flea Treatment In Northern California

Thank you everyone!! Monk'sMom and sabrinah, can I ask if you know of anything effective other than Revolution? I was told Cheristin is good too.

    Flea Treatment In Northern California

Hi guys! We're moving to San Francisco soon (specifically the peninsula). Are fleas a big concern in that region? Our cats are indoors but the new place has a screened in balcony which they'll be using. Our apartment is pretty high up on the 4th floor, so I'm hoping that's high enough not to...

Why Don't I Hear About Tidy Cat Litter Here?

By far my favorite litter, my family has used it for years! We tried more expensive brands and TC always works better. One big thing I notice is that the smell directly after they use the bathroom is really minimal compared to other brands. And it clumps like a dream for our Litter Robot.

I Can't Get These Last Few Pounds Off My Cat

Thank you so much everyone for your help! We're going to cut 10 calories off at each meal time and see if she can shake a few ounces off her lol. If not, we won't stress about it because she's definitely a lot better than she was. She is not super active with us, but she wrestles and runs...

I Can't Get These Last Few Pounds Off My Cat

My 6 year old rescue cat started around 21 pounds and with a wet food diet I easily got her down to 13 lbs or so. She still needs to lose about another 3-4 lbs. While she's doing a lot better, these last few pounds are holding her back still in a lot of ways. She is eating two 3 oz cans of...

We Need To Switch To Dry Food, Unsure Where To Start. Desperate For Advice!

Thanks guys you gave me a lot to consider. It looks like there are a lot of high fiber wet food options too, unless I am misunderstanding how this works. For example Instinct Grain-free Chicken wet food has a dry matter analysis of 14% fiber which is comparable to most dry foods. I'm guessing...

We Need To Switch To Dry Food, Unsure Where To Start. Desperate For Advice!

She's recommending it because of the anal gland issue. Because we've tried everything (including bulking up wet food which she rejects eventually), the vet is offering two final things to try: dry food or surgery. The vet seems to be under the impression that dry food will bulk up her stools...

We Need To Switch To Dry Food, Unsure Where To Start. Desperate For Advice!

That's one of the main foods we rotate and sadly she still has this issue on it. I'm not sure why either since that's extremely high fiber compared to most dry foods...

We Need To Switch To Dry Food, Unsure Where To Start. Desperate For Advice!

She eventually rejects food that we alter in any way which is why this has been such a headache. We've exhausted every wet food additive I can think of! Benefiber etc gets rejected as well. I'm also not willing to pill her daily as she's extremely high anxiety and borderline aggressive...

We Need To Switch To Dry Food, Unsure Where To Start. Desperate For Advice!

Our female was extremely overweight before we got her (21 lbs), but today she is around 11 lbs and on a healthy wet food diet. However her previous obesity (which is known to weaken anal gland muscles) along with this diet has given her severe anal gland issues. We've put in a lot of...

Alternatives To Flax Seed/pumpkin For Anal Gland Issues?

that's definitely odd, multiple vets have recommended ground flaxmeal for this issue. it works great, it firms her right up and helps her express her glands in the litterbox. the issue is that she's getting sick of the taste and and not finishing her meals anymore. the surgery is quite invasive...

Alternatives To Flax Seed/pumpkin For Anal Gland Issues?

Our cat has anal gland issues and needs 1/4 teaspoon of flax seed every meal to firm up her stools enough to express the glands. She's getting very tired of the taste of flax and is starting to reject her wet food when it is mixed in. She did the same thing with pumpkin. Does anyone have any...

How To Know When It Is Time To Rehome Your Cat

Thanks guys for the responses, they made me feel better about the situation. People have acted horrified when I talked about medicating her. Asa has been on 10mg of amitriptyline for nearly 3 weeks now. She grooms a lot less now (which is good, she was bordering on excessive grooming), and her...

How To Know When It Is Time To Rehome Your Cat

Ugh I hate even typing this but I'm at my whits end.. I've posted here before about how my 5 yr old female has gotten touchier and touchier over the years. The little interaction she gives us always ends up with her hissing and clawing within a minute. She's had four medical checkups this year...
