My cat has been on orbax for over a week, for a urinary problem. Today, she is refusing to eat. So far, she has only missed one meal but I've already sent an email to my Vet to see what I should do.
Has anyone had a similar experience? I'm wondering if it's the orbax that has taken away her...
My cat recently started to have arthritic symptoms and now chooses to sleep on the couch instead of the carpet. I worry that, at times, jumping onto the couch may be hard for her. I'd like to get her a bed that can sit on the ground, easy for her to use. However, I was thinking that memory foam...
I used to feed my cat on a low ironing board because that was the only place ants couldn't get, and it was easy for her to jump. However, now she is older. Has anyone found a way to feed your pets on a low surface without ants invading? Thank you.
My cat is 14 years old and I want to start giving her glucosamine. I started looking at the products made for cats, but some expressed concerns that sometimes there are other ingredients that may or may not be good. What glucosamine product do you use? Have you noticed a big difference in your cat?
Thank you! I've been doing this for quite some time, and am very pleased with how much better it is, to put the food in Pyrex glass containers. I feed her in a stainless steel bowl, but am currently giving her water in a ceramic soup bowl, after a suggestion was made that cats prefer a larger...
Thanks so much, mrsgreenjeans and lts3! This is all very helpful information. I'm going to jot all of this down and look into it, right away. she has been on a limited diet for so long (venison and green pea) I really feel that the food I tried to give her was just too much on her system and she...
My cat was sick over a week ago, refusing to eat for 3 days. I took her to the Vet after the first day, they gave her anti-nausea med and fluids. She refused her own food but ate another food I bought. So, I started giving her that food. For the past several days, she will eat a little, then go...
Thanks again, everyone! I used a bigger bowl, one of my soup bowls, and let her see me put fresh water in it. I have seen her drink from it, twice so far! And, I am adding water to her food so that I know she is getting it there, what a great help you have all been. She still hides sometimes and...
Thanks, everyone! These are great suggestions. She used to like water dripping from the tub but she is now too timid to jump in...so a drinking fountain might be ideal! Also, I switched her from a dry food/canned food diet to strictly canned food, so this might explain her decreased lack of...
Blackcat, this is great information about them not liking to get their whiskers wet! Yes, cat bowls are always small, and mugs, too. I'm going first thing tomorrow to find something larger, and much more appealing to her. Thank you!!!
Thank you for this information. I switched my cat over from eating canned food and dry, to just canned food. I also added a few drops of extra water into the food, which she gobbles down, readily.
My cat recently went through three days where she refused to eat or drink, and barely moved. I took her to the Vet (after the first day of this) and they said all they could see what that she was dehydrated. I had just taken her for her annual exam and blood work two weeks ago, which showed...
I forgot to ask you - she hasn't eaten or drank any water since she has barely moved all day. So today I gave her a syringe full of water. Should I give her another? I'm not sure how much she needs.
Thanks so much, Stephanie. Her Vet will be in office tomorrow morning and I will take her in, if necessary and get this taken care of. Reading those side effects was scary, she does seem like she might be depressed.
