Hi all,
My poor baby has had a beyond rough year (dental extractions, PU surgery and a craniotomy). Since March (at the end of the surgeries),his bowel movements have changed. He goes from having bouts of constipation, normal stool, stool with soft and unformed bits, and the occasional...
Please help 😩
My 12 year old male cat has a clean bill of health (blood, urine and CT). However, he has had a very stressful year (3 surgeries - dental, PU and a meningoma brain tumor). Lately he has been over grooming his sides and I notice twitch/spasm like moves on his middle/lower back and...
Hi all,
May cat has had a very stressful year thus far due to surgeries/medical issues. He had PU surgery at the end of February. He is almost 13. I have recently found him laying in his litter box at times. On other occasions I will see him posture to pee but not produce anything. However, he...
My almost 13 year old boy has been going from having soft poops, hard poops, normal poops with some diarrhea at the ends for the past few months. I give him restoralax every few days to help. Doctors suspect it’s due to stress he’s endured this year (3 different surgeries and various medications...
I got a compounded form of the medication to make it easier on him - I give it every 12 hours. I spoke to his neurologist tonight and explained all his “symptoms” and he said it sounds like it could be related to stress and/or neurological. Due to the size of his tumor he said it could take time...
Thanks for sharing your experience! My guy had the PU surgery at the end of February. A few weeks later he had a craniotomy. Sooo he didn’t even need the PU surgery but the vets had no idea what was going on with him and why he could pee sometimes and not pee other times. My options were to put...
Yeah it is. Where the tumor was in his brain was in an area that can cause seizures so it was prescribed to him as a precaution. Yeah- it’s very strange and I am definitely grasping at straws trying to figure it out. Maybe it’s just part of his recovery process? Not sure.
That’s what I thought also, but his doctors don’t seem to so it’s confusing. Definitely going to look more into the anemia point.. also wondering if maybe his medication (levetiracetram) is playing any part in this. No arthritis that I know of. Thanks for your thoughts!
Hi all, my almost 13 year old boy has been to hell and back this year (3 surgeries in 1.5 months - dental extractions, PU surgery and a craniotomy 😳). He has been up and down since March. He has been seen and assessed by different vets a few different times and there is nothing overly concerning...
Thanks so much for letting me know. Did your kitty improve after the remaining sutures were removed? Some days my guy runs around like a mad man and other days he hides out in the closet. He was seen by the vet last week and was otherwise fine other than the PU site being red/agitated.
The poor baby. I think it really comes down to quality of life and whether she could enjoy the time she has left or whether it would be painful/stressful. So sorry to hear this.
My cat didn’t show neurological signs (fell down, was unable to stand and his eyes would barely open) until he was on deaths doorstep. An MRI confirmed a meningioma tumor. He had a craniotomy and though the recovery process has been rocky (medication, etc.), however, he has been running around a...
Have you tried restoralax? It’s a powder for humans but works for cats as well. My cat has issues with constipation as well and I sprinkle a bit of it on his wet food every day or other day (depending on severity), and it works wonders. It was recommended to me a few years ago by an ER doc and...
