    Printers aren't always scary.

... at least, not when they're turned off and hidden under several layers of thick, inviting blanket. Even better, it makes a great spot to supurrvise the human without the risk of being removed from her lap.

    The little savage!

Yes I know you're a carnivore, Daisy, you don't have to remind me!

Lying on my lap = ideal place to chase her tail

(never mind what those hooks do to my legs! 😖)

Just a bit of good news to share

I've been concerned lately that Phoebe might have early signs of kidney disease, because she's been drinking and urinating more and is of an age where it might be expected to develop. Took her for a blood test today. The vet said all the outward signs were good - healthy appetite, consistent...

A new take on post-poo zoomies

Usually Phoebe's the tail chaser in our family!

She's learned the gentle art of bribery.

Last night I sat up later than usual, trying to finish untangling a wool skein. About 9.45 Daisy came out, practically looking at her little purrket-watch, and started head-butting me and messing about with the yarn. "I'll come to bed when I've finis this," I said. I could alm hear the "Humph!"...

    She loves television!

"Smilin' Jack", M*A*S*H, season 4. I presume she lost interest once the chopper landed safely!

Post-Poo Zoomies aka The Yarn Monster

She'd just managed to drape a couple of poos over the edge of the litter box because she sat down too close to the end 🤦‍♀️ . No, she didn't bite any off, I know about the dangers for cats of swallowing yarn. She's now loafing with her back to me, presumably in disapproval because I took her...

She really is a medical expurrt

Daisy not only reminded me it was time for her Special Drink aka morning dose of Osmolax (she loves that stuff and drinks it out of the mixing spoon) but supurrvised me while I was replenishing Mum’s pills for the week. She’s a pawdiologist, too - has to check I’m doing it right when I put new...

I’ve never been so clean in my life!

Only drawback is, my face now smells of tuna.

    Want pets NAOW

Daisy this morning. Five minutes earlier she’d been sitting on the chair with her face stuck in the corner, ignoring everything. (sound up for purrs!)

    I can’t get up because …

… Phoebe is having a major bath on my lap. Clearly breakfast will have to wait. So will the knitting I want to finish today. Do you put things on hold because it would disturb the cat and that is just Wrong and Unacceptable? 🙀

Has anyone’s cat gone over the 48 hour mark with no poo, but no sign of straining or impacted poo?

I’ve been wondering about this since Daisy’s trip to the vet for a micro enema a month ago. She’d gone about 51 hours by the time she had it, and did a good big soft poo about 20 minutes later. She hadn’t strained or as far as I know tried to do a poo at all. She urinated normally, and ate and...

Eye still watery a week later

Phoebe’s left eye was squinting and watery last Sunday. I took her to the vet on Monday. Inspection with fluorescing dye and black light didn’t reveal anything. The lower lid and cornea were a bit red. The vet flushed her eye, gave her an antibiotic shot and prescribed Chlorsig ointment twice...

    Show us those kneaders!

Daisy working out on my legs a few minutes ago … before deciding my heaped-up bedspread was a much better challenge.
