    Adaptation to new kibble

Well, they really seem to be getting better. I was just worried it wasn't really normal at all. But seeing how they seem to be happy, active and all, and that the stools seems to be more solid every day, and less worried. They eat, play and sleep correctly, and they are not pooping more than...

    Adaptation to new kibble

I hope 'kibble' is the correct term  We have two 6 month siblings, and a couple of weeks ago we decided to try a new brand of solid food. We had been using low quality kibble (what we could in that moment) and we switched to Applaws, a brand that has a great price/quality ratio. We did...

    Travel advice

Hello everyone! We moved last week, so here I am to tell how it went. And the truth is it went perfectly fine! The whole process could have been extremely stressful for Cocó and Kylo: not only we moved and they had to travel on a ferry for 5 hours, but the night before we were sleeping on a...

I rescued a kitten and she won't stop crying

So happy to read that! She definitely looks happy. I'm sure you three will do more than fine together!

Thanks for that tip too! Definitely, we'll try to have these small patches of fabric ready :) I'll let you know how it went in a few days. Thank you all!

    Travel advice

Thank you all! Yes, it really makes sense to have them in separate crates for this trip. I'll keep in mind the possibility of non-recognition aggression and have some of their used blankets to use after a cooldown if we see they are reacting this way. As for doing their things during the...

I rescued a kitten and she won't stop crying

No, as Di and Bob said, don’t feel bad, don’t think on trying to find her mom. She’s with you, and now the focus should be on confirming she is ok 😉 So vet appointment and good nutrition, and she’ll be fine in just some days!

I rescued a kitten and she won't stop crying

Maybe she wasn't lost but just got too far, and her mom would have find her eventually. As far as I know, that's why people usually advice to wait for a couple of hours before taking home kittens that seem to be lost or abandoned. Anyway, I guess that doesn't matter now, as there is no way to...

    Travel advice

Hi everyone! As you know, about three months ago we adopted siblings Cocó (girl) and Kylo (boy). They are now mischievous but loving 5 months old kittens. They eat well, they are sociable and curious, so no behavior problems to start with. However, we are moving! We currently live on an...

Suckling kittens: differences between male and female

Thanks! Yeah, I'll definitely try to have them neutered as soon as it's safe. He does bit her neck sometimes, but only when playing, never when they are both kneading and she is suckling. So it seems there's nothing to worry about for now.

Kittens always hungry: how much should they eat?

Thank you everyone! For now, I can say that at least they are a lot happier :D

Suckling kittens: differences between male and female

Well, I was just concerned it meant he was almost mature enough, you know? I really want them to be neutered as soon as possible, but safe and without risks. So if these erections and him hopping on top of her can happen but they meant nothing if there's no biting on the neck, I'm relieved...

Kittens always hungry: how much should they eat?

Thank you for all the comments! So basically, I should keep the 4 times feeding, but bring them full plates so they can eat all they want, and once they stop, I take the plates back. And this adding as much wet food as possible (the morewet fold vs dry the better), right?

Kittens always hungry: how much should they eat?

This is my first post outside the Behavior subforum :P Well, I come today with a pretty straightforward question: how much should 3-4 months old kittens eat? We adopted Coco and Kylo about a month ago, with around 8 weeks, and they are around 14 weeks now. The first days, we had them on a...

Suckling kittens: differences between male and female

Well, sadly even the minimum weight is not the same as you mention, 2,5 kg being around 5,5 lbs. We have their next vaccine appointment in a couple of weeks, I'll keep insisting. And regarding the other question, the suckling and the male getting erections, have any of you ever see something...

Suckling kittens: differences between male and female

Hi, it's me again with new questions :) Ever since Coco (F) and Kylo (M) arrived, she would start suckling some types of blankets. We recently made a bed with a box, a cushion and a blanket, and she randomly goes there and start suckling and kneading. Kylo, on the other hand, would never...

Is rubbing and head butting an adult behavior?

I'm definitely less concerned now, thanks! They both are sweet and like to fall asleep next to us, no matter if it's on the couch, next to the computer... so they are cuddly (in the very few hours they'd rather be playing, of course!). While I would love them to do head butts, I was more...

Is rubbing and head butting an adult behavior?

Hi everyone! As you know, my wife and adopted a pair of 8 weeks old siblings a month ago, a female (Coco) and a male (Kylo). They are very sweet and I think pretty happy as well. Being our first cats ever, I wonder if they should rubbing their heads and bodies against us, against objects...

cat goes from purring to biting in a milisecond

Thanks a lot for all the advice here! We recently adopted a pair of siblings, and he lets us pet him and scratch him all that we want, including his belly, but the girl randomly bites when being pet; sometimes with a warning of her tail, but sometimes without it. I guess we'll have to accept...

Adopting a kitten or a bonded pair: questions

Thanks, we are really obsessed about this since we discovered that worm! Well, on a quick update: they are doing fine, they now know and enjoy the rest of the house. They are starting to understand which areas are off limits (kitchen and the dining table, basically), but well, they struggle...
