My Kitten Chews His Paws Raw

We did the biopsy and she did great. The diagnosis was pemphigus folacious. Started predisolone therapy and saw improvements almost immediately. We are on day 5 now and I'm seeing skin on her paw pads again! She was in bad shape before the biopsy, i was nervous we were going to lose her in fact...

Plasma cell pododermatitis OR pemphigus folacious??

so the diagnosis ended up being pemphigus folacious. They did what's called a punch biopsy of several areas. Turns out, she had these "crusts" all over her body. Her belly area, her cheeks and neck, ugh. it was bad. She started predisolone therapy and within 3 days seeing a big turn around. She...

    Patella Luxation Surgery

That is disappointing, to say the least. Sorry to hear that. It's so stressful putting them through that. My vet is crazy busy lately too. But they're great. they squeezed her in today for a biopsy because she has what they think is pemphigus folacious, which is a skin disorder. They wanted to...

    Patella Luxation Surgery

Holy wow! Your cat is lucky and evidently very loved♥️. You've thought of everything. She has a great set up and she's sure to love the window! As she starts to heal and feel better, she may think about jumping the open tops of the cages. I read one post where they used Velcro to secure cages to...

My Kitten Chews His Paws Raw

Wow, thanks for sharing your experience in detail. Doesn't sound bad at all. I'm glad it went well for him. I, too, have another cat that will want to pounce, and I'll have to separate too. That was helpful..thanks for sharing!!

Plasma cell pododermatitis OR pemphigus folacious??

Thank you! Funny, her paw pads feel so warm to me but the vet sort of brushed past that. I will try those, so long as licking the sprays won't hurt. I bought shampoo but the directions are to lather and keep it there for 5-10 min. That ain't happening, she won't let me touch them. And then it...

    Patella Luxation Surgery

Hi there! I have a petite, 1 yr old tortie named Boo who was diagnosed with this too! Both legs and when it first started, about 2 months ago, she was under the bed too. She is now out for the most part and able to jump ok, but when she walks her legs look weak and I can almost see...

My Kitten Chews His Paws Raw

Aw thanks. I wish you luck!! It's frustrating because my little one has a couple.good days I think it's getting better, then not, and it gets worse..up and down, up and down. Sounds like you might have it similar. I am questioning whether it is something called pemphigus folacious. Boo...

Plasma cell pododermatitis OR pemphigus folacious??

Thanks for the reply. Good idea on the coconut oil..I'll try. I happen to have some. Funny only one cat got it. Makes me think it's genetic. The vet did not think it was fungus.

Plasma cell pododermatitis OR pemphigus folacious??

If she doesn't respond to.the antibiotics, he wants to get a definite on that pemphigus folacious before putting her on steroids long term, which is the treatment for that condition. I think that's his rationale anyway.

Plasma cell pododermatitis OR pemphigus folacious??

My 1 yr old, Boo, has some funky paw pads. Very crusty, licks them non stop, and won't let me touch them much. I can tell she's super uncomfortable. Vet thinks plasma cell pododermatitis, BUT she also gets tiny bumps in ears and little pink/crust spots on belly around nipples. Hate to disagree...
