My kitten is terrible at pooping

He doesn't go outside at all. If his stool continues seeming off, I will collect some to be tested, thanks for the idea!

My kitten is terrible at pooping

Today's stool (that he tracked around a lot) definitely seemed softer (and smelled funkier) than usual. He hasn't changed his diet at all though, so I'm not sure what caused the change.

My kitten is terrible at pooping

Bigger box is a great point, I will buy a bigger one tomorrow. He has doubled in size since we got him two months ago, so it makes sense that perhaps his box is too small for him now. I'll see what other kind of litter I can find as well!

My kitten is terrible at pooping

Hi all, My kitten, 6 months old, has some pooping issues. First of all, he never covers it. He tries, kind of, but will do the swiping motion three feet OUTSIDE of the litter box, meaning he doesn't actually cover it. In and of itself, this isn't awful, but his second issue is that he seems...

    Leaving a kitten by himself?

Hi all, My wife and I have a ten year old female cat, T, and just got a new 5-month old male kitten, M. The introduction has not gone well, so we are going to start over (as people suggested in my other thread). However, I plan to start working again soon, meaning that we would have to leave...

Resident cat keeps viciously attacking new kitten

Thank you for the thoughtful reply, I really appreciate it. A follow-up question (I'll likely make a separate thread on this but figured I'd ask here also) - how long can I leave kitten M in a room by himself? Right now I'm between jobs but I'd like to start applying soon, and my wife is at...

Resident cat keeps viciously attacking new kitten

It's very similar to this except we have to pull her off him. The sounds are identical.

Resident cat keeps viciously attacking new kitten

She runs from across the house to jump on him while hissing and screaming (the way "cat fights" sound on TV). She hasn't drawn blood but that's only because we pull her off him immediately, as the poor little guy is scared out of his mind. His personality seems to be pretty timid, he's not...

Resident cat keeps viciously attacking new kitten

He isn't quite six months old yet, so we are holding off until then (February). Can you link to any articles or share any stories that indicate a difference between how a neutered kitten is treated by a resident cat vs a non-neutered one? I haven't heard anything about this before and haven't...

Resident cat keeps viciously attacking new kitten

He is not neutered yet, he has an appointment for the end of February for this. Is this likely to affect how T reacts to him?

Resident cat keeps viciously attacking new kitten

Hi all, New to the forum here. A little background: My wife and I had two cats, a 10 year old (T) and a 15 year old (P). Unfortunately, P passed away a few months ago. P was sweet and gentle, and T sometimes picked on her (but was likely just T trying to play). Nothing I would call out of...
