    Thoughts on these brands?

I'm in Canada and was looking at the chicken based foods. FirstMate Oven-Baked I've tried freeze-dried treats and he was not impressed (much to the dogs delight ) though can always try again. I just figured a higher end kibble has to be better than the Temptations treats the other half...

    Thoughts on these brands?

Hello Currently we are looking at dry food brands for my daughter's cat. He is a mix of raw and canned feed for the most part, but we utilize a dry food as treats. Trying to pick something fairly decent but won't break the bank either. Currently considering The best quality and healthy food for...

    Feeding Amount

She doesn't feel skinny. Just light. She has never been a big eater and gets offered just over 4 ounces a day that she might eat most of. To be fair, she is being compared to the "kitten" at 14 lbs and him eating 6 ounces of chicken plus either a 3 ounce/half 5.5 can of food or 1/4 cup kibble...

    Feeding Amount

Hello I have been feeding our cats a raw diet for a while and my 7 year old is doing well on her rabbit diet but I worry that she is not eating enough. She eats between 3.5 & 4 ounces of rabbit and gets 1 tablespoon of Nature's Variety Instinct Cat LID - Rabbit Formula as a treat. It could be...

    Recipe Question

With the thyroid, was that only a concern with rabbit or should I be looking into it with the chicken as well? Still waiting on Carnivora on the ratio, they took a few days last time I emailed to respond so expecting the same.

    Recipe Question

I think that is one reason people are surprised that there are vegan cat and dog foods. I personally don't agree with those unless there is some reason for feeding them like your pet is allergic to the world basically and can only eat that. I heard back from CCD on their rabbit, it is a whole...

    Recipe Question

Oh I agree there are some nutrients a cat can probably get from other sources rather than just meat. They may not be as readily available is all I think what most thoughts are with those. Just like I'm really hoping my girl can handle salmon/fish oil, krill oil or green lipped mussel oil for...

    Recipe Question

I can see why people who raw feed cats are against the vegetables/fruits considering they are obligate carnivores. I'm not going to worry about having to feed my girl(or kitten considering he will steal the dogs food if he gets the chance) that occasionally. She has had such a rough go with food...

    Recipe Question

Thanks for the input. I did start adding Taurine to both cats foods once I stopped feeding canned on a regular basis. I'll start adding other supplements to his chicken as well. I'll contact Carnivora and see if that is accurate. I try to avoid feeding the veggie mixes but with rabbit being...

    Recipe Question

Still waiting to hear back from companies, though I have done some digging and found the following: Kitten can eat chicken which is why I have both the chicken varieties I order for the dog on here. My cuddle cat only gets rabbit and these are the brands I have access to. CCD(this brand is...

    Recipe Question

Thanks for the link :) The rabbit she likes the best is a ground product with bone and some organs. She will also eat the Carnivora rabbit patties. I am unfortunately very limited on options I can get for rabbit in the raw as the other choice I can get is an obvious dog aimed food - K-9...

    Recipe Question

I am just trying to make sure that they are not missing any nutrients, I don't think it hurts to add extra vitamins of the water soluble type it is the fat soluble ones I get nervous about. My one girl only eats rabbit and we add Taurine to it and as well as the chicken the younger one gets...

    Recipe Question

Hello Most of the recipes I have seen are when you are separately sourcing the meat/bone, organs and grinding. Is there any recipes for when you buy everything already pre-blended(80 meat/10 bone/10 organ or 90 meat/10 muscle etc? The place I buy my dog food from offers several different...

Trying To Go From Freeze Dried To Frozen Raw

Another update, she ate some raw rabbit without canned so she is willing to actually eat it. I imagine we will continue with feeding some canned but will not offer it as often.

    Veggies In Cat Food

I've even seen some commercial raw diets with veggies and fruits in them. The raw food place I bought some rabbit off of has a mix that is 60% ground with bone/10% organs and 30% veggies/fruits(carrots, apple, lettuce, squash, and banana). That is more for dogs though.

Trying To Go From Freeze Dried To Frozen Raw

I'm hoping so, though if this works for her I'm good with some canned. I do warm the food before giving it to her and make sure it is mixed well to avoid cold spots. My hubby complains I spend more time prepping her food vs his lol

Do You Feed "treat" Junk Food?

With my one cat her version of treats is the kibble she can eat(boo for allergies/sensitivities), as she is mainly raw/canned food fed so she thinks it is a treat. We are both happy with that and that is what matters :)

Trying To Go From Freeze Dried To Frozen Raw

I haven't noticed too much different with her so far other than her coat is much softer/silky. Though her litter box has improved stinky wise as well as long as the youngster doesn't use it(he's gross even according to my teen who loves him)

Trying To Go From Freeze Dried To Frozen Raw

Another update, she is eating roughly 3/4 raw and 1/4 canned(mixed together still) with a touch of kibble now. I don't think I will ever get her to 100% raw as she is still reluctant to eat it plain. I consider this a victory with her :yess:
