    Dry food causing diarrhea.=

So just because it didn't work for your cat you don't recommend it? First of all, I recommended the powder supplement. The paste is known to cause diarrhea and Purina is currently working on reworking their formula ot prevent that. Second of all, just because it didn't work for YOUR cat doesn't...

    Dry food causing diarrhea.=

It's literally designed for diarrhea and recommended by veterinarians, but whatever. ;)

    First Time Kitty Owner

Have you taken your cat for her first visit with your veterinarian following her adoption? If not, I highly recommend bringing up the topic with them. Make sure you know which food brand/type you plan to keep your pet on so they can find the daily kcal amount for your fur baby based on their weight.

    Dry food causing diarrhea.=

I'm not familiar with those brands. Usually the box comes with instructions and/or consult your veterinarian.

    Dry food causing diarrhea.=

Fortiflora is a powder that you mix into her food. It comes in a box with individual packets. You put one into her food every 24 hours until the box is gone. Fortiflora is made by Purina.

    What is this? :/

As a veterinary technician, you'd be surprised how many photos of feces we receive via email. Our number one suggestion is always to bring a sample in to perform a fecal on.

    Dry food causing diarrhea.=

Hi there I'm a veterinary technician! I want to start off by saying that I'm not a doctor and I'm not providing a medical diagnosis only offering advice based off of my experience in private practice. With that being said, switching their food abruptly can cause diarrhea. Especially if you are...

    Cat Toy Help

About two years ago, my mother bought a cardboard scratcher for her bunny. It was originally designed for cats. She took a glitter pom toy off of it and gave it to my cat. My cat is now three years old and LOVES this toy. No other toy makes her perk up the way this one does. My problem is, I...

Is An E Collar Right For My Kitten?

Hi there! I'm a vet tech at a local spay and neuter clinic. One thing I often suggest to clients who contact our vet tech phone line is to cut four holes into a sock and put it around your kitten like a little onsie. It doesn't work for every cat, but it never hurts to try.

    Spontaneous Cat Aggression

She does know it. However, she does seek attention. She's currently rubbing up against me purring really loudly. I'm waiting for her to jump off my lap and turn off my computer (again). I probably should have mentioned that Minerva is indeed a calico, haha. Juno (the 3 year old) is a patch...

Also, I'd like to show off the little trouble maker. This is my Minerva.

Is My Cats Incision Healing Properly?

I'm a vet tech at a low-cost spay and neuter clinic. It looks like a seroma is starting to form. A seroma is a pocket of clear fluid under the skin. Has she been very playful and active? With all that said, I do still recommend seeing your vet for a recheck. It never hurts to be safe when it...

    Spontaneous Cat Aggression

It came back normal. That's what I'm thinking, Minerva (the 10 month old) is just being really aggressive. Juno (the older cat) is afraid to go and when she hears her bell collar, she panics. I've isolated Minerva to my room as of today (Juno wouldn't leave it last night and I didn't have the...

    Spontaneous Cat Aggression

Also, I just ordered a variety pack of the "kickeroo" toys! As well as a couple of other toys. I swear I order more toys for my cats than I do things for myself, haha (not that I mind, I want them all to be very happy and have the enrichment they need :D).

    Spontaneous Cat Aggression

I want to start off by thanking everyone for the responses. I appreciate everyone being willing to help out. I did consider that Juno (the 3 year old) might be sick. However, she was just at work with me yesterday (I'm a very new vet tech with very little experience on behavioral problems) and...

    Spontaneous Cat Aggression

Hello, I have four cats in my home. Two males (brothers, neutered) that are 14 years old. About two years ago I brought a female (spayed) into the home. She was 1 year old at the time, and will actually be turning 3 years old this Friday. There was a little fighting, but beyond that they...
