    Cat Introduction Advice

Hi Rubysmama (your Ruby is gorgeous) and thanks for the information. The baby gate set up looks like it could be a good idea and I may try with items we have on hand to save some expense...hopefully chicken wire will work! With the article on play or fighting this is the problem. To me all the...

    Angry Cat

Hi Knight's Cat and welcome to the forums! It sounds to me like your kitten is just being a kitten! They are natural predators and at this age they want to practice their attacking skills on any moving object which will mean biting. A good thing to do is to train your new family member that...

    Cat Introduction Advice

Hi all, I recently got a new cat to keep my other cat company (she loves other cats). We got the new kitty from a private owner that was rehoming as they were moving away who 'said' he was used to other animals and was not aggressive to other cats even when they were unknown and in his...

    Food Options - Protein Free...

Thanks for the quick response and the article links - I will definitely have a look! Good to understand the science behind the food as well as to why that protein is acceptable. Unfortunately Molly (the cat) has had her issues for many years and the problem has actually caused severe colon...

    Food Options - Protein Free...

Hi all, my cat (may) have an autoimmune problem and the vet has started us on AN/allergenic biscuits from Royal Canin as they believe that she may have a strong intolerance for protein (apparently in this food it is a different type? I am not so good with the sciency aspects). Protein is in...

    Jaundice in cat!

Awww I'm so sorry, I'd guessed it was bad news when you didn't update again and my heart goes out to you both. It's always a terrible decision to make, but you put him first and that's all you could do. Hugs xx

    Cat Bloody Eye

So a quick update in case anyone in the future has a similar issue. She was at the vets for over two hours, and we are awaiting blood test results which we will have soonish. They believe the cause is high blood pressure, and there is actually blood in the other eye also but behind it so we...

    Jaundice in cat!

Ah yeah, I'd forgotten it was bank holiday :( It's great that you are putting him first, and I hope he shocks everyone with a miracle recovery and that he is safe and calm and not in any pain.

    Jaundice in cat!

I'm sorry to hear that, and I really hope that something changes positively for you :( As it's now normal hours for them at the vets they will hopefully be able to give you some answers so at least you know why this is happening.

    Cat Bloody Eye

She's off to the vets in an hour! The shelter vets said to wait another day to see if it changes so we are taking her to the one we use for our own animals and paying. It may be something of nothing but we want it checked (no anger at the shelter vet, they are crazy busy especially after the...

    Jaundice in cat!

How old is your kitty? It could be a number of things, but most likely connected to the liver. Hopefully whatever it is is treatable, and great he's at the vet getting the help he needs. Fingers crossed kitty is OK.

    Cat Bloody Eye

She's being kept in, luckily she's quite a chilled out kitty and doesn't mind being inside. She is acting the same as always, but that eye looks very concerning :(

    Cat Bloody Eye

Hi all, I was just wondering if anyone knows what this could be? Molly (the kitty) has alot of pigmentation from old eye injuries (we don't know for sure what happened, she lived rough all her life untll the animal shelter picked her up and then she came to us for fostering) and today we noticed...

Cat Jumping and Scratching at Window

I think as we have no prior knowledge of her it makes it hard to know these kind of behaviours! Watching her today she's doing it with no outside trigger so it could be she just wants outside, but she's scared of everything so it doesn't really fit with her personality. She's a very strange...

Cat Jumping and Scratching at Window

She's doing it in the day too, and there's nothing there I can see. I don't think she's bored, she's only just been allowed out of her own room so it's exploring time at the moment. We've no idea on her back story, she was found and taken to the shelter who thought she was a wild cat but gave...

Cat Jumping and Scratching at Window

Thanks, I think I've managed to upload a video showing the behaviour in an album for people to check. She's been doing it on and off now for quite a while, always the same window and with the pacing it doesn't seem like it's play. She's been there now on and off for the last hour.
