How old is your kitty? It could be a number of things, but most likely connected to the liver. Hopefully whatever it is is treatable, and great he's at the vet getting the help he needs. Fingers crossed kitty is OK.

Thanks, I think I've managed to upload a video showing the behaviour in an album for people to check. She's been doing it on and off now for quite a while, always the same window and with the pacing it doesn't seem like it's play. She's been there now on and off for the last hour.
