Hello!
There are these really excellent looking supplements sold in the store that I work at, by the brand name "Head to Tail". I have literally only heard good things about them, and I hear they are amazing! They have a whole assortment of different things for dogs and cats, such as calming...
Hello!
Long time, no post! I posted a while back when I first got my kitten (Finn, who is now 6 months old). I got busy with work and fell into the habit of not using my laptop much, thus no more forum stuff (I HATE using my phone for this). Anyways! I'm back, and with plenty of questions!
I...
Hey guys!
So many questions! I've been learning a lot about foods, vitamins, and all sorts of health-related stuff, and it got me thinking about how I'm doing as a pet parent. This is more me questioning if there are any ways I can improve on what I'm already doing, and some opinions on a few...
I hope so! Thank you :)
I work in a pet store so I should know this stuff, I just am a worry-wart so I always want to triple check haha. Thank you for all your help!
The food I feed Krueger is Performatrin Ultra in the grain-free recipe. He seems to really enjoy it and it was a much healthier alternative to Iams while still being in my price range (plus at the store I work at, I get 45% off). The brochures and the website both say it's good for all life...
Hey guys! Sorry, work has been crazy!
Thank you for your input, I really appreciate all that you've done to help ease my mind on this issue :)
It has been getting a lot better. Finn is actively trying to wrestle and fight with Krueger probably every 20 minutes, pulling on his tail and ears...
Hello friends!
My new kitten, Finn, loves to do everything his big brother Krueger does - including eating his food. At meal times, when I do give them their kibble, Finn is always going for the adult food. I steer him back to his own bowl of kitten kibbles, but he takes maybe a few bites and...
The video is kind of dark and stuff because my phone likes to darken whenever it takes videos, for whatever reason. However a few things to note:
This is the only video I managed to catch tonight of Krueger grabbing him, but except for the kicking it's about the same. Sometimes he has Finn in...
I wonder if it would help if I could post a video of the behavior?
I'm sure you're totally right! I just wish I had a cat expert who could visit my house and tell me what's up lol
Ahhh thank you!
I'm a total worry wart. Finn is just super skinny and small (I think he could be underweight, I can feel his spine and ribs) so I'm extra concerned. I just don't want Krueger to kill him lol
I tried keeping them seperate today, but the baby was losing his mind within ten minutes of being in the bedroom, so I decided I'd just leave them and hope for the best. Both were alive when I returned home, sleeping on the bed together.
However, again, I catch Krueger bullying him. It seems...
Update:
Today and yesterday, Krueger has started to get a little tougher with him. I've caught him several times today alone grabbing him and pinning him down, and biting him hard enough that the baby cries out. His ears are pinned right back when he does that. I always stop it because...
Also, an update about the boys:
They have napped on the bed the past couple days together, but today they were sleeping side by side (almost touching), and when I moved Krueger's tail to let Finn smell it, he started grooming it. Krueger has also given Finn a few licks on his rump here and...
Yeah, I was watching and it doesn't seem like it was SUPER puffed out, but definitely puffy a little. He also does that I think when he gets over-excited or over-stimulated, as Krueger will usually be purring up a storm and all tail-fluffed when I see him when I get home from work. He's a huge...
All excellent suggestions!
I have two windows, really only one that the kitties can reach, and Krueger definitely loves it!
The stupid thing though is that I'm not allowed to have any shelves, because of the fact that I'm renting and she doesn't want holes in the walls. I'm looking into...
Exactly! Yeah, he's definitely not thrilled about it. But I'm hoping that I can at least get my new kitten used to eating wet food from the start so that the transition won't be too hard. I may even wait to introduce raw again until the kitten is old enough to eat it too, just in case.
Excellent to hear! I'm glad that this is normal. I'm also sure they are establishing who is the dominant one, so I try to not intervene too much. The kitten seems to run away a lot more from him now anyway so I hope that things will be better as he grows :)
It seems that way to me as well, but I've never had a kitten this small before so I don't know! lol
So far, no injuries, however just a few minutes ago I was holding Finn so Krueger could give him some good sniffs, and he started to give him little licks. So I think he's coming around...
