For a smooth Pate you can ask for Hills A/D. Mix in a little water and it becomes an easy food to syringe feed. They should be able to get you just a few cans. Get her more fluids too.
Thank you for all the kind messages. After he is cremated he will be back home with us again. All I can do right now is think about all the signs he was giving me that he wasn't well. But I had no idea... We have two other cats that need to be cared for and loved. I have to try to focus on them...
Well, I took him to the Vet yesterday and she said I should take him to the ER after running blood. BUN was off the charts and something else was high. He had a heart murmur grade 1, then once they gave him fluids it was 2, then by 4:30 it was 3. So he was even more dehydrated. I started this...
Just want to vent somewhere where no one knows me. Kuro is in the ER. Probably CKD. He will be in there for 24 hours at 5pm. I am waiting on the vet to call and give an update today. I guess depending on the severity, I will probably put him down. He will be the first pet I've ever lost as a 37...
While CBD sounds great, i've read that she may need two doses a day, that's not really feasible with our schedules. She is typically a 14lb cat. I will look further into it though.
Wish is a 9 year old cat there abouts. She pees on the floor/carpet. We have a 2 year old son, and this has caused her to go off the deep end. Where before he was born she would maybe only pee once every 6 months. I could handle that... She was on Amitriptyline for over year plus defusers with...
Interesting on the food, I didn't know thats what the food was supposed to do. She already eats Iams dry, science diet adult dry, and merrick wet. We have a water fountain and shes at that several times a day getting water. So I think her water intake is ok. And she is eating normally. Thanks...
Emmy is back to herself. Eating normally. She still has kidney stones, so the vet suggested to try a different urinary type of food. Royal Canine SO. I don't want to change her food again, but she needs to be on something for her condition.
Emmy got some Sub Cu fluids last night, and I gave her some more Cerenia. Syringe fed her a/d and some more this AM. Still not eating on her own, but she is drinking water on her own. I hope I don't have to give Cerenia tonight. Vet mentioned Pancreatitis, any have a cat with that before?
That's a good idea with the stick, shes not happy about being held and syringe fed.
I'll be taking her back today for more fluids and Cerenia. I'm just trying to get her back to a baseline. She's gotta eat.
I read that the premium goes up the older the cat gets. But a lot of them do the reimbursement thing. Some vets do have a preference on insurance, I don't know if you feel comfortable using a different vet though.
Quick story Emmy is about 13 I think. I noticed faint blood in urine about 3 weeks ago, and took her to the vet. Xray showed some stones, one possibly in the process of being passed. Blood work was normal (including kidney function). So vet put her on C/D, which she seemed to like.
Fast forward...
I was aware of the side effects, but every cat is different. I saw her drink some water this morning from the fountain, but shes still pretty out of it. Thank you.
So I have to give wishes Paxil because shes eliminating out side of the box a few times a week. Urine and blood tests all good. Plenty of clean litter boxes. She was spraying, but feliway fixed that.
Anyway we started on paxil 5mg once daily. She was feisty, and a huge pain in the butt to pill...
I don't know where to start here.
Cat used to spray walls, and the feliway classic fixed that. Now she likes to chase another cat up on top of the kitchen counter, then pee in that spot. About 1-3 times a month. Would changing to the feliway multicat help this? Would she go back to spraying the...
