Boiled meat like ground pork and chicken. I also give him fish. Yes I am giving him canned food most of the time. Just to give him variety of choices that's why I'm giving him homemade recipes. No offense taken, I do understand your point :)
Can I ask if you have any experience with what I've been going through? Or do you have any knowledge if clumping litters could have been the reason why my cat is experiencing intermittent urine blood clots?
Oh thank you so much for the replies! Yes we have wood and corn pellets here in the Philippines and would try those out soon. For now, I have decided to not use any litter sand first to see if he will not pass through blood clots anymore. I would try out the corn litter first then the wood...
No more dry food for him. I cook pork, chicken or fish. Sometimes I give him canned food. The only problem is his litter sand I think. I searched some articles saying that some cats' urinary tract become sensitive after experiencing catheterization. Some cats are sensitive to ingredients of the...
Sorry for the late reply. Unfortunately, I haven't found the right litter for my Kasper. I tried crystal litter because I was thinking it (the bloody urine) could be due to the litter dust or maybe an ingredient of the clumping litter that irritates his urethra/urinary tract. But he still had...
Yes I did change last nov 12 and was doing good for two weeks. But after he occupied the new house with the new placing of the litterbox, where he has difficulty of going in and out (but now, I already fixed the placing of the litterbox). And so I assumed there were new sands that have entered...
I've posted before regarding the health of my Persian male cat, Kasper. This might be long but I had to write the history so you could understand better.
He was diagnosed with Calcium oxalate CRYSTALS last Sept 30. He was hospitalized for 10 days: catheterized twice, took potassium citrate...
Hi! I really need your help! My Persian cat, Kasper, one year old, had calcium oxalate crystals last Sept 30 and was confined for 10 days. He was catheterized twice during those period and was discharged last Oct 10.
He had nefrotec ds (a diuretic and anti-crystal formation drug), and...
My cat, Kasper, has been diagnosed with calcium oxalate crystals in his urine last Sept 30. He was discharged last Oct 10. During the hospitalization, he was catheterized twice, put on meds and special diet. From oct 10, I've been crazy and sometimes frustrated watching out for him for any signs...

I feel for you. For the first week after his discharge, I was so stressed with his food intake. But eventually, his appetite would improve. As I always say, just be patient. Feed him food he really want for as long as it is not contraindicated. Then slowly change his diet. It's not easy, I...

I've read one article that says any WET food is better than the best dry food. So for as long as it is wet food, go. If you have the time to cook for your cat though, much better. Or I believe in some places, raw/cooked diet can be bought already. But as for my two other cats, I cook for them...
Hi wera! My cat has been doing great since his discharge. No more blood in the urine and he is drinking a lot. His urination improved. Before, he's been in and out of the box for at least 5 times in 30 min and only pees a little amount. But as the days progress, his urination is not as frequent...
Yes. Just be patient. I've been really frustrated and stressed out because for one month, his urine is still not back as normal as before but I can see improvements though. You might see some drops of blood every now and then if he has crystals. He might be excreting some crystals in his urine...
