No, she's not bothered at all and her behavior is the same as always - she eats well, plays, etc. I'll be keeping an eye on it for sure, but that's reassuring.
Neely, in the article you linked, the white Persian cat in the picture has eye crusts that look very similar to what Cinnabon's does when the tear stains dry. Does your Persian have the bald spot where the tearing keeps happening as well?
Furballsmom, would it be possible for you to post or send me a picture of your boy's nose and what that looks like, so I can have a frame of reference? I'd much appreciate it.
Cinnabon's my two-year-old Exotic Shorthair. She has always had an issue with tear stains. Because the fold on the right side of her face (the crease that is right next to her nose) is deeper than the left, tear staining is more of a problem for the right side (a lot of the times I don't even...
Hi all,
My friend is going away for a month in February and has a young (I think >1 year old) male cat. She recently reached out to ask if I could help take in her cat for the time she's away. Her cat is going to get neutered in a few days.
I'd like some opinions on whether this would be a bad...
She doesn't eat wet food - that's a whole other battle we've fought for months over in the past. She'd rather starve. I've also been considering mixing little bits of the pill into her dry food.
Hi all,
I've posted a few times now about Cinnabon (1 year old spayed female) and her habit of peeing outside the box. On the advice of some members, I took her to the vet, who tested a sample of her urine and told me there's nothing wrong with her medically. The vet gave me a bottle of pills...
Yeah, I think I'm going to do that. I didn't do so earlier because she's still using her litter box, and she's also pooping as well as peeing out of the box, which made me think it was more behavioral than medical.
Hi all,
About three months ago, my 1 year old spayed female cat Cinnabon started peeing AND pooping outside of her litter box. There was one specific corner of the first floor that she did her business in. Nowhere else - just this one corner. She still uses the litter boxes, but it's seemingly...
Hi there!
So with Cinnabon, we later went to the vet again, and our vet said that since she had already received a shot for the ulcers, she was reluctant to give another one as Cinnabon is still so young. She said just to keep an eye out and come back if they ever get worse. Cinnabon's ulcers...
Hi all,
A month ago, my 1 year old female cat Cinnabon started pooping and peeing in ONE specific corner of the first floor. She still used her litter box, but it would be about 50/50 for litter box/corner.
To remedy this, I put a second litter box down where the corner is, and she started...
I cleaned it 3x with one of those big carpet cleaning machines from Home Depot. She immediately peed afterwards in the corner. I'll see if I can find an enzyme cleaner.
Could she still have a UTI if she has no other symptoms (blood, frequent urination, etc.)?
Thanks for your reply. She hates wet food with a passion. We struggled for months to get her to eat it, but she's a dry addict. The other thing is she's been a dry addict for a long time before this issue started, so I don't think this is the cause.
Yes, she's spayed. No, nothing's changed. The only thing I can think of is that we've had guests over a few times, but that's happened before as well and she's been fine with it.
Hi all,
About 2 weeks ago, Cinnabon started pooping and peeing outside of her box. There is only ONE spot that she goes to, a corner of the house.
I've read a ton of info online, and here's some more relevant stuff about her situation:
1) Her box is on the 2nd floor, in a private, quiet area...
