There are a lot of factors to answering this question, but I wanted to get a general consensus anyway. I will be taking a 4 to 6 week backpacking trip, and I plan on leaving my cat at my apartment on his own and to have a friend check in on him daily. My cat sees this person a few times a year...
So I wonder... how can a cat simultaneously be acrimonious while I'm standing, and immediately affectionate and playful when I'm kneeling.... within seconds of each other.
When he's backing away from me while I'm standing, he seems to want me to chase or follow him... or at worst he's acrimonious about it. Which has been increasingly happening lately (since he escaped from the harness).
Hey everyone. So this is what mah boi Titan has been doing pretty much all his life but increasingly so when he's a little agitated:
He likes it when I'm short, not tall...so I get on my knees to greet him as often as possible. When I do this, he head bumps me in my kneeled position several...
Even prior to the escapes, Titan was a particularly fussy feral orange tabby. Back then, he would only cuddle with me on my bed and no where else. Since the escapes, he lays under my bed instead of on it alongside me. It's extremely frustrating. I can sometimes pick him up and hold him down next...
Titan is 4 and I've had him for 3 years. I had him in a harness to go on walks about 2 months ago, and he escaped into the woods twice. He is extremely aggressive now, and my feet and voice in particular trigger him in my two bedroom apartment. In fact...all of me triggers him in general. He's...
Funny... the opposite happens with my cat. He's an orange tabby and he keeps his distance and is very selective about when and where he interacts with me. We should trade cats. I want more affection and you want less.
Hey everyone,
I use Catnip Garden by Multipet and all my cat seems to do is eat it. He doesn't get energized by it at all, but he has with other brands of catnip in the past. My cat is 4 years old. I'm wondering if it's him or if it's the quality of the catnip. Has anyone noticed...
Quickie question about cat no-no zones (my workbench). Any thoughts on how to train a cat to stay away from certain areas/furniture in an average size apartment? It's not that my cat is or isn't trained, but I live alone so I cannot reinforce no-no zones while I am away from my apartment, and...
Hello everyone. I am a new cat owner of approximately one month. I adopted Titan from the local SPCA at one year old, and he is neutered.
Lately he has been acting aggressively towards me. I understand it is "common" for a cat to bite suddenly during a petting session, but he actually rarely...
I've had my 1 year old cat for about three weeks and have been giving it the same dry cat food the SPCA was giving it before I got him. I found a sweet deal on cat food at a local pet store and I'm beginning to transition him to the new food by going 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, and eventually full change...
