I was hoping to get some insight from other breeders that spay/neuter kittens prior to them leaving. Any tips or tricks to helping multiple high energy kittens recover quickly? Any issues that you have encountered either immediately after the surgery or long term effects? Any breeders completely...
Looking for suggestions for a good breeding app, willing to pay if it's worth it. I've been tracking everything on paper since I started breeding and figured there has to be an app for that 🤣
Looking for suggestions, what you liked/didnt and why would be awesome!
TIA
I tried feeding with a long nipple initially, but I realized very quickly it wasn't going to work when milk started bubbling out her nose, so I switched to tube feeding.
She sounds like she has a cold constantly, like she is trying to breathe through a stuffed up nose. And of course while at...
My Siamese cat had a litter of 4 kittens on the night of the 4th. I noticed early morning on the 5th that 1 of the female kittens was making odd almost raspy breath sounds. Upon inspection I realized that she has a severe cleft palate. Thankfully I had everything needed to start tube feeding...
What health, virus/ parasite ect testing should be done before a new cat is allowed to be removed from quarantine?
We had issues in 2019 with a new boy bringing mycoplasma with him (which turned into an absolute nightmare).
We will be welcoming a new girl in the near future and I would like to...
She was spayed 6 pm Saturday evening and we were able to pick her up yesterday afternoon. I am so so happy that she is home and is doing well. (Although she's not super happy about being a cone head lol)
Thank you so much @lutece for all your help, I was still a complete wreck until we picked...
That's true too, just because my vet will be open doesn't necessarily mean they will be able to help her/get her in. And then she might be in an even worse situation because we waited. Definitely made me feel a lot better thank you.
I was absolutely sure I was doing the right thing bringing her to the emergency vet, but when the surgery wasn't done when it was initially said it would be and still hasn't been; my partner started questioning whether it could wait until Monday for the fraction of the price.
I personally don't...
How long from the time you saw symptoms to when they were spayed roughly?
She started having discharge on the 6th, i brought her into my vet they ran some tests and determined that she had an infection but that it wasn't pyo. They sent her home with antibiotics for 10 days. The discharge...
Have any breeders had this happen to one of your girls? If you have, how did your she recover? Were there any additional complications? Was it opened or closed pyometra?
One of my girls is currently at the emergency vet awaiting surgery for open pyometra. The surgery was supposed to be done...
From what I have been reading (not an expert, but figured I would share what I have found), cryptorchidism is an autosomal recessive condition. So in order for a male cat to have cryptorchidism, they would need to receive two copies of the defective gene (one from each parent).
Because of lack...
@lutece she is doing so much better, thank for asking :) I was actually coming on to thank @Sarthur2 again for the information and give an update.
Her foot is flat now and no longer curls in constantly, and she is able to bend her legs herself now. I did bring her to the vet, they told me to...
Thank you so much @Sarthur2 for the links, I will start warming the affected leg before continuing to do the stretching.
Thankfully the foot seemed better this evening with less of a curl to it then when she was first born, so hopefully with doing the physio multiple times a day the foot will...
My cat gave birth to 7 kittens early this morning. I noticed immediately that kitten number 3's left hind paw was curled in awkwardly and leg looked off. Paw is difficult to straighten, leg is difficult to bend.
I was able to get a vet appointment for monday afternoon, but I am wondering if...
