...had a herpes flare up that shes thankfully recovered from but now here's this: Let me give some background info. So she pretty much has had vaginitis off and on since her first heat april 2022. I had her spayed in July 2022 and that seemed to totally cure it. Until october 28 it came back...
This, to me, is way out there, but I am going to share it anyway.

I also checked for prior threads on this site (in case you didn't already do that, but they...
Until (or unless) you can get her to a Vet, I wonder if applying plain yogurt to the area might help. I know it helps ME when I get vaginitis. And it's perfectly safe for a cat to ingest, so it just might help.
Just make sure they were able to also rule out vaginosis/vaginitis (not the same thing as pyometra but can precede it) - just in case the antibiotic would be different from whatever they prescribed for a UTI. The random, but recurring, discharge doesn't seem like it is being properly treated...
...to spay her thinking it was hormonal or something. This is the first time I seen it again since spaying. Maybe all this butt stuff gave her vaginitis??? Maybe her lady parts are just sensitive and prone? Idk but it's stressing me. I just want my sweet baby to be healthiest and happiest. I'm...
...after mating is not a ‘pregnancy thing’, how experienced are your mentor and vet in breeding?
I would be very concerned about an infection, vaginitis as pyo was ruled out.
a scan for sizing is unnecessary stress on a pregnant cat, nor is sizing at all accurate.
unless ill there’s little...

She might have vaginitis or Pyometra and all vet clinics in my surround area are closed. I called a few different emergency clinics and they are either closed or short staffed so they can't be of assistance. One of them, their intensive care is closed so they won't be...
...infection of the uterus, so it shouldn't be possible in a spayed cat (I have heard of recently spayed dogs getting "stump pyometra" in the area where the uterus used to be, but I haven't heard of that in cats). It could be vaginitis. I'd take her in for a swab and culture. Discharge isn't normal.
Thank you for replying to my post so quickly! That's very helpful and reassuring about the pyometra.
I'm worried about the possible vaginitis. Is vaginitis in cats usually serious? I hope its something easily treatable with meds as she's already had such a horrible time of it with the...
While vaginitis in cats isn't quite usual, it isn't rare, either. It is generally due to a bacterial infection which is easily treatable with medication. Very occasionally, there can be more serious underlying causes, such as tumors, but that is rare, and would probably have been noticed when...
...the way out but haven’t had a chance to review it myself yet).
It could still basically be anything at this point. Fungal, ectoparasitic, vaginitis, pyo... we don’t know.
Apologies in advance for such a disjointed comment. It’s been a long day and my brain has already checked out.
Okay, we...
...the outsides but close to the vulva. He thinks maybe the skin flaps and hair could be causing a build up of urine which could have caused a vaginitis infection.
He gave her a broad spectrum antibiotic injection which lasts two weeks. He advised me to monitor her to see if it continues or if...
One of my cats was overweight and she ended up getting vaginitis because she couldn't keep herself clean. My vet advised me to cut back a little on her dry food. She was getting 1/2 cup a day now she gets 1/4, and also my vet told me to give her more canned. She gets around 3oz. each day...
It could also be vaginitis. I have a 13 year old spayed female that occasionally has bouts of it and a week of antibiotics usually clears it up. She never shows any symptoms except for the nasty discharge and sometimes she'll clean herself back there more then usual. My vet said vaginitis is...
Margd? Yes it was news to me but when you're isolated its hard to get answers. I suspected vaginitis wasn't what was on her rear but nobody said yes they're part of the male anatomy. Penis on a cat is pointy. On a human male I know the tip is rounded. Vein?! Hardly. But again...when you're...
I showed him the pic and he said vaginitis! This yellow stuff comes out every day. Kittens are very active all day. He did not suggest testing? He said if pyrometra or infection kittens would be dead. He was not concerned about it since there were no other signs of infection. She is eating...
