Hi everyone I'm Barb and my sweet boy Nubbins just had his PUSurgery Tuesday Feb, 13 2024. We're 5 days in recovery and like most of you who've gone through this surgery with your babies, I to am totally sleep deprived, on the verge of a panic attack all the time it seems. Him and I have...

...in just over a week following a bladder infection the week before, my vet recommended that my male cat, Fluffy, receive an urgent PUsurgery. On Tuesday evening I brought him to the emergency animal hospital and he received his surgery yesterday and it was successful and he is doing well and...
A family members cat had PUsurgery on tuesday just gone. He had multiple blockages and it got to the point they struggled to catherterize him.
All was looking fine on the thursday when he wee'd a little. Think 30%.
Later that day he tried to wee again but only a few drops came out.
His...

My Romeo had PUsurgery last June after repeatedly getting crystals in his urine. The surgery seems to be successful but I'm having problems feeding him and my other 10 cats. My vet said that because he had crystals, he can never eat anything but prescription food again. I started using Hills...
...pee.
5/11/2023 we noticed he seems to be blocked. He spent 4 days at the er with catheter and fluids.
He is back home now and we have PUsurgery scheduled for Monday but I am very anxious over going through with it. I believe he has FIC and the blockages are stress related since there were...
My boy Artemis is officially 2 weeks post-OP on Monday but he still pees very tiny small amounts and gets very upset that he can't lick right after, will just keep trying to through his cone for several minutes. Is this normal? :( I know I was warned to expect this in the beginning but...

The incision looks pretty good to me. When my cat had PUSurgery done I was constantly on edge and got myself into panic mode on numerous occasions. He had it done back in November and if I remember correctly, he leaked wee for almost three weeks and my vet said that was normal. He’s all good...
(Heads up for anyone squeamish, the photos attached are pretty graphic.)
Hello!
Almost 6 weeks ago from now, my cat had PUsurgery performed for repeated blockages. The recovery process has been going okay so far, despite a minor setback of him getting his cone off when I wasn't watching and...
...trying to track his incidents, but I haven’t been able to find a pattern or trigger. Has anyone else had a cat have these kinds of issues after getting the PUsurgery? Or does anyone have any advice to help cats use the litter box, other than what I’ve already tried? I’d appreciate any help!
I'm sorry I don't have any information that can help. I'm hoping that some of the information in these articles will help. Also I did a generic search for PU surgeries. That search has a bunch of articles you can look through. Please keep us posted...
It's alright, any help is appreciated. I have done some binging on these threads before I went through with his surgery just to get a feel of what I was going into, but it's been a lot more than I imagined. I found the information given by @Stargirl0623 very helpful, but unfortunately it doesn't...
Does anyone have experience with their male cat dribbling urine after PUsurgery?
He’s a sweet, but difficult cat and his recovery was longer than expected, because he kept licking the incision. The vet is worried he’ll develop scar tissue, so I put vitamin E on it a few times. But he likes the...
Hi. A PUsurgery is a big deal. It is expensive and a difficult surgery to do. Part of what you pay for in the surgery is also the aftercare. Please keep in constant contact with your vet. I promise you, you are not bothering them. If your cat hasn’t had a bowel movement, you need to let the vet...
How often are you rinsing the area?
I think that might be slowing down the healing process. I know nothing about PUsurgery but for the most part you need to surgery sites clean and dry.
I would contact the vet and see what they say about how it is looking.
